2017 FRIGID Festival Presents THE REFUGEE PLAYS Starting Tonight

The 2017 FRIGID Festival presents The Refugee Plays, five short plays by Charles Gershman, Penny Jackson, Callie Kimball, Carlos Castro, and Sean E. Cunningham that tell powerful stories of refugees today. Dan Dinero, Logan Reed, and Rachel Dart direct. Performances will be staged at The Kraine Theater, located at 85 E. 4th St. between 2nd Ave Bowery in NYC for five performances from tonight, February 16, through March 5, 2017.

Arthur M. Jolly's LONG JOAN SILVER Opens Friday!

LOFT ENSEMBLE announces opening night of their production of Arthur M. Jolly's Long Joan Silver. Performances begin with opening night February 17th at 8 pm.

ALL THE FINE BOYS, Starring Abigail Breslin, Starts Tonight Off-Broadway

The New Group presents the world premiere of All the Fine Boys, a new play from writer and director Erica Schmidt, featuring Abigail Breslin, Isabelle Fuhrman, Joe Tippett and Alex Wolff. Previews begin tonight, February 14, in advance of Official Opening Night on Wednesday, March 1. A limited Off-Broadway engagement plays through March 26 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (Ford Foundation Studio Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).

New Line Theatre to Present YEAST NATION: THE TRIUMPH OF LIFE

New Line Theatre, "the bad boy of musical theatre," is proud to announce that YEAST NATION: THE TRIUMPH OF LIFE, the world's first bio-historical musical comedy, with book and lyrics by Greg Kotis, and music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann, the subversive geniuses behind the award-winning Broadway musical Urinetown, will be part of New Line's 27th season, running in June 2018. 

Girl Be Heard Examines Rape Culture in BLURRED LINES Premiere Tonight at HERE

The award-winning ensemble Girl Be Heard, a nonprofit theatre company that amplifies the stories of young women, will present the World Premiere of BLURRED LINES, a revolutionary new show about the normalization of rape culture in contemporary society at HERE (145 6th Avenue, one block south of Spring St., enter on Dominick St.) tonight, February 9, through February 19.

Directors Scott Weinstein and Hannah Dawe and Music Director Jermaine Hill to Lead LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE

Directors Scott Weinstein and Hannah Dawe and Music Director Jermaine Hill will lead a Valentine's Day themed event, LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE: A concert benefiting Planned Parenthood, the Trevor Project and the Southern Poverty Law Center. The concert is set to take place at 8PM on Monday, February 13, at Windy City Playhouse (3014 W Irving Park Rd) and will feature several of Chicago's most beloved theater artists including Donica Lynn, Alex Weisman and Jonathan Butler-Duplessis.

SILENCE! THE MUSICAL Parody Extends in San Francisco

Due to overwhelming audience response, Cloud 9 Theatricals, in association with Lang Entertainment Group and Ray of Light Theatre, announced today the extension of the San Francisco premiere of SILENCE! The Musical - the "subversively funny and deliciously tasty" award-winning musical parody of "The Silence of the Lambs." Originally scheduled to close on Saturday, February 25, tickets are now on-sale through Saturday, March 18.

The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training to Present THE DRUNKEN CITY

The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training continues its 2016-17 season with contemporary playwright Adam Bock's THE DRUNKEN CITY. A high-energy comedy about life and love, the production is directed by returning guest artist Jesse Jou, whose work was last seen on the FSU/Asolo Conservatory stage in 2014 with How I Learned to Drive.

The Musical, the unauthorized parody of "The Silence of the Lambs," playing a limited engagement at San Francisco's Victoria Theatre (2961 16th Street, San Francisco), Today, January 26 through Saturday, February 25, 2017. SILENCE! The Musical tells the story of rookie FBI agent Clarice Starling as she matches wits with the brilliant but insane cannibal, Dr. Hannibal Lecter in order to catch the serial killer known as Buffalo Bill. Clarice faces her own demons-and a troupe of singing and dancing lambs-while racing against the clock to unlock Lecter's clues before another innocent girl is killed and skinned by Buffalo Bill.
