Celebration Theatre to Close 30th Season with REVOLVER, 6/12-7/21

Celebration Theatre is has announced the final show of its celebratory 30th Anniversary Season, and the final show in its current home on Santa Monica Blvd, the world premiere of a new play,revolver, written by Chris Phillips, choreographed by Janet Roston and directed by Ryan Bergmann. revolver will preview on Wednesday, June 12 & Thursday, June 13 and will open on Friday, June 14 and will perform through Sunday, July 21 at Celebration Theatre, 7051B Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood.

SIGNS OF LIFE Gets Staged Reading at American University Tonight

Snap-Two Productions, Inc. and LimanAde Productions in association with Issembert Productions, Inc. will present a staged reading of the new drama with music, Signs of Life, at American University in the Katzen Arts Center Studio Theatre tonight, June 1 at 7:00 P.M. and June 2 at 1:00 P.M. The performances will feature American University alumni, current students and a student from BRAVO@KAT, the children's wing of Kensington Arts Theatre. This is the first academic production of Signs of Life.

The Fun Company Presents THE YOUNG OLYMPIANS AND THE MOST AMAZINGLY AWESOME ADVENTURE EVER, 6-21-6/30

It's time to be brave...again. The Fun Company's hit family show The Young Olympians and the Most Amazingly Awesome Adventure Ever is back by popular demand. In April of 2012 the show by playwright Sarah Shulman made its World Premiere on Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) stage to packed houses and rave reviews. 'The Young Olympians was a serendipitous triumph of words music and performance...take everyone from toddler to grandparent, aunts and uncles, teens and random folk you meet on the street. You'll be glad you did.,' proclaimed Charlie Smith of Want2Dish. Audiences will have the opportunity once again to enjoy the heroic achievement of The Young Olympian's when it returns to the MET stage at the historic FSK Hotel (31 W Patrick) in downtown Frederick for six performances June 21 through the 30.

West Coast Premiere of THE KATRINA COMEDY FEST Set for Lounge Theatre, 6/5-6/30

Bayou Playhouse and Flambeaux Productions have announced the West Coast premiere of The Katrina Comedy Fest, written by Rob Florence, directed by Misty Carlisle, and featuring video projections by Jeff Teeter, at Hollywood's Lounge Theatre as part of the 2013 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Previews begin on June 5 with the official opening set for Thursday, June 13 at 8pm. The Katrina Comedy Fest will play Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sundays at 8pm through June 30 only.

Rattlestick Presents Jessica Dickey's CHARLES IVES TAKE ME HOME, Now thru 6/29

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of Charles Ives Take Me Home, written by Jessica Dickey and directed by Daniella Topol. Charles Ives Take Me Home will begin performances tonight, May 29, 2013 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater at 224 Waverly Place. The official opening night is set for Thursday, June 13 at 7pm. The production is scheduled to run through June 29.

Molly Dykeman to Bring THE F*CKING WORLD ACCORDING TO MOLLY to IRT Theater, 5/25-6/1

Molly 'Equality' Dykeman is a loveable, but barely lucid security guard at PS 339 who dabbles in a bit of poetry, a bit of Percocet and a lot of drink. She may be a foul mouthed, straight talking, lady kissing, mother lover, but she still needs to find a way to pull herself together, overcome bed bugs, love and sissy kids to perform in her first poetry show. Will she succeed? Only Molly can tell...

HUMOR ABUSE Joins CTG Lineup, Replacing WHAT THE BUTLER SAW

'Humor Abuse,' the hilarious and heartfelt story of growing up in a circus, created by Lorenzo Pisoni and Erica Schmidt, directed by Schmidt and featuring a tour de force performance by Pisoni, will be presented at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum, September 17 through November 3, 2013. The opening is set for September 21.

THE KATRINA COMEDY FEST Comes to Hollywood Fringe, June 2013

THE KATRINA COMEDY FEST by Rob Florence Directed by Misty Carlisle, will feature: Judy Jean Berns, Peggy Blow, Deidrie Henry, Travis Michael Holder, Jan Munroe, and L.Trey Wilson at The Lounge Theatre, 6201 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, Calif., as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival. The show runs at 8 PM, every Wed., Thurs., Sat., & Sun. in June.

Squeaky Bicycle's ALLIGATOR SUMMER to Play Abingdon, 6/20-7/7

'Alligator Summer' by Dylan Lamb is an audacious farce in which two southern families have taken refuge in an attic, Anne Frank style, after an endless army of alligators have overrun their town. Subtitled 'A Southern Gothic Atrocity in Three Acts,' it is an absurd play that seriously confronts how we face our primal fears, address reality and communicate truthfully. Squeaky Bicycle Productions (www.squeakybicyleproductions.com), a young and hungry company dedicated to new works, will present the play June 20 to July 7 in the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre of Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, 312 West 36th Street. SON OF A HUTCH Extends thru 5/31 at Stage Left Studio

Joe Hutcheson shares a hilarious collection of stories about growing up gay in the Hutcheson family, where all the men are nicknamed 'Hutch' and boys who identify with soap opera heroines can't identify with their dads. Until they grow up. Whether trying to get kicked off the football team or making his brother act out scenes from soap operas, Hutcheson shows the audience the 1980's through the eyes of a little gay boy who doesn't want to be a Hutch.

STRAIGHT FACED LIES Opens 6/2 in Planet Connections Theatre Festivity

Loretta Michael Productions presents the world premiere of 'Straight Faced Lies,' a comedic drama written by Mark Jason Williams and directed by Melissa Skirboll, June 2-22 at the Robert Moss Theater (440 Lafayette Street). The show is part of the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, New York's premiere eco-friendly and socially-conscious arts festival, and both Mark Jason Williams and Melissa Skirboll are Planet Connections Award winners: he received the 'Outstanding Playwriting' award in 2011 for 'The Other Day,' while she was named last year's 'Outstanding Director' for The Closet.
