Peter Martins, Ballet Master in Chief of the New York City Ballet, announced today that the Company will launch a new performance group called New York City Ballet Moves during the summer of 2011. Consisting of a small group of artists from the full company, New York City Ballet Moves will provide an opportunity to showcase NYCB's dancers and repertory in venues that might not be able to present the full company for financial or technical reasons. Martins will select a rotating group of performers from NYCB's roster of dancers and musicians to participate in the group's engagements.

The New Group held a celebration last night for its world premiere production of the new play Blood From A Stone byTommy Nohilly. Directed by Scott Elliott, Blood From A Stone features Gordon Clapp, Ann Dowd, Thomas Guiry, Ethan Hawke, Natasha Lyonne and Daphne Rubin-Vega.
Previews began Monday, December 13. Originally slated to open Thursday, January 6, the production will have its Official Opening Night on Wednesday, January 12 at 7:00 PM. A limited engagement runs through February 5 at The New Group @ Theatre Row.

Sanders peers into the souls of the soldier, his Staff Sergeant, his military psychiatrist (a woman), his closest buddy from overseas who is now serving with him stateside, and his girlfriend who is mother of his infant son. Hamilton Clancy directs. The plain-spoken, powerful drama hits with the force of a mass outcry in our war-weary age. The Drilling Company presented the play's world premiere run from November 4 to 21, 2010.

Broadway veteran Kevin Anderson leads the cast in the Los Angeles run of world premiere production of Neil LaBute's The Break of Noon. The Break of Noon, which is a co-production with MCC in New York, will feature Catherine Dent as well as Tracee Chimo and John Earl Jelks, who performed their roles in the New York portion of the run.
