Bernard Pomerance's Tony Award-winning play The Elephant Man, starring two-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper as John Merrick, Academy Award nominee Patricia Clarkson as Mrs. Kendal, and Alessandro Nivola as Dr. Frederick Treves, is directed by Tony Award nominee Scott Ellis. The official opening is Thursday, January 29. The cast will also include Peter Appel, Ian Etheridge, Mike Faist, James Joseph O'Neil, Elizabeth Ramos, Thomas Jay Ryan, Frank Van Putten and Megan West. A MONTH IN THE COUNTRY will be directed by Erica Schmidt.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but for three women across Canada, beauty comes as a cash prize and dazzling jewellery from a Mary Kay Makeover Contest. Mary Kay announced the winners of its Beauty That Sparkles Makeover Contest this week by granting the Grand Prize Winner, Suzie Dubeau of Guérin, QC $3,500 cash, plus a dazzling Swarovski pendent. Runners-up Amanda Falk of St. Thomas, ON and Stephanie Tremblay of Drummondville, QC received $500 cash and a stunning Swarovski Wrap Bracelet.

Theater for the New City and the Textile Co. in December are presenting Butterfly Hour, a new play about soldiers returning and adjusting to life on the home front. This production stars Tom Ashton, Christina Germaine, Scott McIntyre and Paul Wallace and is directed by Daniel Higgins.

Producers Tom Kirdahy, Roy Furman, and Ken Davenport announced today that Broadway's record-breaking, star-studded smash hit comedy It's Only a Play by 4-time Tony Award winner Terrence McNally, will welcome two new stars. Beginning January 7, 2015, two-time Tony Award winner Katie Finneran and Screen Actors Guild Award-winning "30 Rock" alum Maulik Pancholy-in his Broadway debut-will assume the roles of 'Julia Budder' and 'Frank Finger', respectively.

The New Group continues its 20th Anniversary Season with the New York Premiere of Rasheeda Speaking, by Joel Drake Johnson, helmed by Cynthia Nixon in her directorial debut. The Old Globe today announced it will present the Second Annual New Voices Festival, a weekend of readings of new American plays by professional playwrights, December 12 - 14, 2014.

Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance opens tonight, November 20, on Broadway. The production stars Glenn Close (returning to Broadway for the first time in twenty years), John Lithgow, Lindsay Duncan, Bob Balaban, Clare Higgins, and Martha Plimpton. Warehouse Theatre Company will open it's 2015 season with Kenneth Lonergan's 1996 comedy This Is Our Youth. The play, fresh off it's Broadway debut, will receive it's Central Ohio premiere at Warehouse Theatre beginning with a preview performance on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at MadLab Theatre and Gallery.

Happy Birthday Daphne Rubin-Vega! Rubin Vega is a two-time Tony and Drama Desk nominee and recipient of the Theater World, Obie, Blockbuster awards and was recently nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her role in Jack Goes Boating. She is perhaps best known for the roles she originated, including Mimi (RENT) and Conchita (Anna in the Tropics), both Pulitzer Prize winning Broadway shows for which she was nominated for the Tony award. She also originated the role of Rahmi (Gum), Sofia (Nilo Cruz' Two Sisters and a Piano), Canary Mary (Suzan-Lori Parks' f**king A, Lucille Lortel nomination) and Lucy (Jack Goes Boating) at the Public Theater, as well as starred in the Broadway revivals of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Magenta) and Les Mis, ('Fantine') and most recently, The New Group's Blood From a Stone ('Yvette') opposite Ethan Hawke.'

Christopher Marlowe's 1587 epic Tamburlaine, Parts I and II, edited and directed by Olivier Award-winner Michael Boyd and starring John Douglas Thompson, opens Sunday, November 16, at 1:00pm at Theatre for a New Audience, Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place.

Marin Theatre Company artistic director Jasson Minadakis, managing director Michael Barker and director of new play development Margot Melcon announced today the winners of MTC's two new American play prizes, a program now in its seventh year. Skeleton Crew by Dominique Morisseau won the 2014 Sky Cooper New American Play Prize and Martyna Majok won the 2014 David Calicchio Emerging American Playwright Prize for her play Ironbound. The winners were selected from over 900 eligible submissions.

David Rabe's Sticks and Bones launches The New Group's 20th Anniversary Season. Directed by Scott Elliott, this production features Richard Chamberlain, Nadia Gan, Holly Hunter, Morocco Omari, Bill Pullman, Ben Schnetzer and Raviv Ullman.
