The producers of Roald Dahl's MATILDA THE MUSICAL announced today that Olivier Award-winner Bertie Carvel will reprise the role of Miss Trunchbull in the Broadway production of the Royal Shakespeare Company's eagerly anticipated musical which begins performances on March 4 and opens on April 11 at the Shubert Theatre (235 West 44th Street). The new musical Kinky Boots, from four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics), ends its pre-Broadway run at Chicago's Bank of America Theatre today, November 4, 2012. Kinky Boots will begin preview performances on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, with an official opening night set for Thursday, April 4, 2013.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Cyndi Lauper just wrote a new song for Kinky Boots, which is currently playing in Chicago. 'I Come to the Rescue,' which was featured in the Act 1, has been replaced by a song called 'Step One.' Lauper wrote the song last weekend and it was added to the show on Tuesday night. Additionally, book writer Harvey Fierstein has added 37 new pages to the script since opening night.

Russian pianist Pavel Kolesnikov has been named the Prize Laureate of the 2012 Honens International Piano Competition. Mr. Kolesnikov (age 23) receives the $100,000 Enbridge Prize (cash, CAD) and an artistic and career development program valued at a half million dollars - the largest award of its kind. Finalists Lorenzo Cossi (Italy), Maria Mazo (Russia), Jong-Hai Park (South Korea) and Eric Zuber (United States) each received $10,000 (CAD) prizes and semi-finalist Zenan Yu of China was awarded the $2,500 Raeburn Prize for Artist of Special Promise.

Lindsay Posner returns to the Almeida to direct Rebecca Lenkiewicz' new stage adaptation of Henry James' The Turn of the Screw from 18 January - 16 March 2013, with press night on 24 January. Designs are by Peter McKintosh with lighting by Tim Mitchell and sound by John Leonard. Casting for The Turn of the Screw will be announced shortly.
