Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that Rogue Valley, lauded local folk-rock band, is the next featured act in itsNew Century Sessions, at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8, 2013. This new Minnesota music series, sponsored by Park Nicollet Health Services, gives artists a chance not only to play, but to share the evolution of their work and commune with the audience. The series runs at the Trust's intimate New Century Theatre in downtown Minneapolis and opened in September with a sold-out Jeremy Messersmith show. Twin Cities' band The Starfolk (Brian Tighe/Allison LaBonne) opens. New Century Sessions will showcase four more performances to be announced later.

For four magical nights this week, the Mabel Mercer Foundation will present a sparkling array of America's leading cabaret stars. Among the 60 outstanding artists who will take the stage at the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center from today, October 7th through 10th are multiple Grammy Award winner Jack Jones, Marilyn Maye, Steve Ross, Karen Akers, Nellie McKay, and Barbara Carroll.

The name has changed, but the mission remains the same: entertaining, educating and illuminating. As always, Park City Institute (formerly known as Park City Performing Arts Foundation) serves up a smorgasbord of eclectic, electrifying, awe-inspiring and internationally acclaimed dancers, musicians, family entertainers, speakers, actors and full throttle performance troupes. Park City Institute presents its 17th season at The George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Center for the Performing Arts from October through May. Tickets and season punch cards are currently on sale.

The Show Goes On Productions presents To Carry On… a Tribute to the Life and Music of Laura Nyro written and performed by Mimi Cohen. Gretchen Cryer directs and Jeffrey Klitz music directs. The production opens on Ms. Nyro's 66th birthday, Friday, October 18th, and runs for six performances beginning Friday, October 18 to Sunday, October 27, 2013, at The TBG Theatre, 312 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor in NYC.

Now, more than 50 years later, just in time for the late legend's 84th birthday, Joe's Pub and the Album of the Month Club expand the palette by adding jazz, cabaret, Broadway, folk music, and bluegrass into Brother Ray's classic mix. Brooklyn-based trio The Lone Bellow brings its unique blend of American folk, country, and Southern gospel musical traditions to Zankel Hall on Friday, October 18 at 10:00 p.m., kicking off the ninth annual WFUV Live at Zankel series. The group, featuring Zach Williams (vocals), Brian Elmquist (guitar and vocals), and Kanene Pipkin (mandolin and vocals), performs songs from their self-titled debut album released by Descendant Records / Sony Music this past January.

The 2013-14 season of the Bryn Mawr College Performing Arts Series begins in November with the music of Turtle Island Quartet with Nellie McKay and a performance of sacred dance and music by Tibetan monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery.

McCarter Theatre Center is pleased to announce its 2013-2014 roster of world-renowned artists on its 2013-14 Presenting Series. During the upcoming season, McCarter will present over 40 performances by world-class performing artists curated by Special Programming Director William W. Lockwood.
