American Stage Theatre Company ends its record breaking 2010-11 season with Neal Simon's classic comedy, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, July 19 thru September 25.

According to published reports, stage and screen star Matthew Broderick will replace Harry Connick Jr. in the upcoming Broadway production of the Gershwin musical Nice Work If You Can Get It. Additionally, Tony winner Kathleen Marshall, who left the project a while ago, is back on board to direct.

Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 65th Annual Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards were announced May 3, 2011 by Tony Award winning actor Matthew Broderick and Tony Award winning actress Anika Noni Rose, at the Tony Award Nominations Announcement sponsored by IBM.

BroadwayWorld.com previously reported that NBC has officially picked up the pilot entitled SMASH for a series to begin mid-season. According to Deadline.com, NBC just signed a deal with Columbia Records to release the soundtrack for the highly anticipated new series Smash. Additionally, leading lady and American Idol alum Katharine McPhee has also signed a recording contract with Columbia.

Cortland Repertory Theatre starts their celebratory 40th Anniversary 'Ruby Jubilee' season at the Little York Pavilion with 'Rumors', a hysterical farce penned by America's Master of Comedy, Neil Simon. Simon is best known for his cannon of wildly successful comedies, and is the only playwright in history to have four shows running on Broadway at the same time: 'The Odd Couple', 'Barefoot in the Park', 'The Star Spangled Girl' and the musical 'Sweet Charity'. He has been nominated 17 times for the Tony Award, has won 3, and also won the Pulitzer Prize for his semi-autobiographical comedy/drama 'Lost in Yonkers'. 'Rumors' is the only true farce that he has added to his extensive body of work.
