BD Wong, John Lithgow and More Set for 2013 SELECTED SHORTS

Symphony Space's long-running public radio program, Selected Shorts, is pleased to be joined by an all-star line-up of guest hosts in 2013. Stephen Colbert, Neil Gaiman, John Lithgow, Cynthia Nixon, David Sedaris, and BD Wong, writers and performers who have all participated in previous Selected Shorts shows, each bring their own unique voice, humor, and insight to the hosting duty and honor the memory of Selected Shorts' creator and long-time host, Isaiah Sheffer, who passed away last month after a brief illness.

Animator Jim Batt Releases “I Have Your Heart” with Molly Crabapple & Kim Boekbinder

The short animation 'I Have Your Heart' is a collaboration between New York illustratorMolly Crabapple, international rockstar Kim Boekbinder, and animator Jim Batt (the director behind recent popular stopmotion music video 'Want It Back' for Amanda Palmer.) The film is the story of a good girl with a bad heart, and the boy whose death will save her life. Told through darkly whimsical stopmotion, the film was inspired by Kim Boekbinder's rollicking, accordion sing-a-long song about love, loss, and open-heart surgery - "The Organ Donor's March."

The first installment of JTW's new Monthly Play Reading Series at the JCC, Murder Mysteries is adapted from a short story by author Neil Gaiman. Set before the creation of man, it is a tale of love, consequences, and what it means to seek justice, and exact vengeance for the first time. Murder Mysteries: A Play for Voices will be presented tonight, November 26, 2012.

HELEN AND EDGAR Makes Off-Off Broadway Premiere, 10/9

The creative team behind storytelling juggernaut The Moth will join with acclaimed raconteur Edgar Oliver this fall to present the world premiere of Helen & Edgar, a mesmerizing, hilarious and heartbreaking tale of Oliver and his sister Helen's strange childhood in Savannah, and their mother's struggle with madness.

Brooke Bloom, Fred Arsenault and More Join A.R.T.'s MARIE ANTOINETTE

he American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has announced additional casting information for David Adjmi's new play, Marie Antoinette, directed by Rebecca Taichman, with choreography by Karole Armitage, in a co-production with Yale Repertory Theatre. Marie Antoinette begins previews on Saturday, September 1, and runs through Saturday, September 29, with press opening on Friday, September 7 at 7:30pm.

One Ring Zero Performs at The Jewish Museum's Summernights Concert Series Tonight, 7/26

The Jewish Museum's popular SummerNights concert series concludes with One Ring Zero tonight, July 26. The band performs unique Balkan-inspired sounds, including songs with lyrics by Paul Auster, Margaret Atwood, and other writers. DOORS OPEN AT 7 PM. THE CONCERT BEGINS AT 7:30 PM. Attendees will also enjoy an open bar with beer and wine, and free ice cream courtesy of Chozen. The Jewish Museum is located at Fifth Avenue at 92nd Street, Manhattan.

RED VELVET, ARABIAN NIGHTS & More Set for Indhu Rubasingham's First Tricycle Programme

Indhu Rubasingham has announced her inaugural season at The Tricycle, which will launch with the World Premiere of Red Velvet, written by Lolita Chakrabarti with Adrian Lester in the role of Ira Aldridge; followed by The Tricycle's first festive family show, The Arabian Nights, written by Mary Zimmerman and adapted from The Book Of The Thousand Nights and One Night. In 2013, The Tricycle present an Eclipse Theatre production of One Monkey Don't Stop No Show, by Don Evans, followed by another World Premiere: Paper Dolls, written by Philip Himberg and adapted from the award-winning documentary by Tomer Heymann, produced by Stanley Buchthal.

Michelle Pfeiffer to Receive 2012 Cinema Icon Award

Actress Michelle Pfeiffer will be recognized for her work in Hollywood at this year's CinemaCon, where she'll accept the 2012 Cinema Icon Award. The annual theater owners' convention is historically where studios reveal their summer movie lineup. Pfeiffer's award will be presented during the final night dinner.
