Goodreads Reaches 100,000th Author

Goodreads has just announced that it's Author Program has just reached a major milestone- hitting 100,000 auhors involved. Paticipants include such authors as: Khaled Hosseini, Neil Gaiman, Amy Tan, Helen Fielding, James Patterson, Cassandra Clare, Rick Riordan, Jodi Picoult, Stephen King, Margaret Atwood, John Grisham, Nicholas Sparks, L.J. Smith, and David Baldacci.

Bard Fisher Center Receives Major Funding To Support Fellowships Through Live Arts Bard Program

The second season of Live Arts Bard (LAB), a program of the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College, provides residencies for six American artists and ensembles making work that spans and transcends the fields of theater, performance, dance, music, film, and live art. Spring 2014 resident artists are Sarah Michelson, Nature Theater of Oklahoma, Geoff Sobelle, and Nilaja Sun. John Kelly and Robert Woodruff were LAB resident artists in fall 2013.

Zoe Boekbinder Announces Support Dates For Ani DiFranco

New Orleans-based singer-songwriter Zoë Boekbinder returns after a yearlong hiatus with two support dates for acclaimed folk artist Ani DiFranco, before embarking on her own short tour of California in January 2014.

Well you could have just that at the next Naked Girls Reading Presents Solstice. Naked Girls Reading is a performance of Burlesque ladies who love to read stories of Scrooges, snowflakes, and a magic silk cap. Cherokee Rose, Cherie Sweetbottom, Gigi Holliday and special guest, Alison, will bring their sexily intelligent skills to the DC Arts Center tonight at 10:00pm.

JULESWORKS FOLLIES Set for Jean Cocteau Cinema, 12/30

Julesworks presents edition twenty-one of Santa Fe's Monthly Variety Show, The Julesworks Follies, on Monday, December 30th at 6 pm. We are excited to stage our show once again at the newly reopened Jean Cocteau Cinema at 418 Montezuma. We had a good turnout for our first show there, in spite of being well snowed in.

Brenda Knight Shares Stories and Gratitude in THE GRATEFUL TABLE

Brenda Knight, publisher and founder of Viva Editions, an imprint of Cleis Press, will be appearing on the national radio show Coast to Coast AM with George Noory on Thanksgiving night at 10pm PST to discuss her new book The Grateful Table: Blessings, Prayers and Graces for the Daily Meal. She will also discuss legends from the town she grew up in, Point Pleasant, West Virginia, which was where the mythical Native America figure of the Mothman was first spotted. Shelf Awareness also featured the interview.

Rainbow Beast & The Rock Band Land Rockers to Release New Album 2/11

For three upcoming Saturday performances - November 16, November 23, and December 7 - Tony Award nominee Euan Morton will step into the DOLLHOUSE to play the role of bandleader "Henry Azelrod," performing with members of the jazz band Grandpa Musselman & His Syncopators.
