Janeane Garafolo, Phyllis Somerville (The Double) and Jordan Carlos (Guy Code), are among the cast members set for 3rd Street Blackout which goes into production in June. Co-Directors Negin Farsad (The Muslims are Coming!, Nerdcore Rising) and Jeremy Redleaf (Sesame Street) announced the news today.

n Partnership with the UNC Center for the Study of the American South, Carolina Center for the Study of the Middle East and Muslim Civilizations, UNC's Department of American Studies, and Muslim Life at Duke, the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival is presenting a screening of the new comedy documentary, The Muslims Are Coming, at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 7. The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced today the eight musicals selected to be part of the 24th Annual Festival of New Musicals at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

LAUGHING LIBERALLY: THE 2012 ELECTION EDITION, a comedy extravaganza, which mixes humor, musical numbers, and political satire will conclude its 2012 on Oct. 15th at The Playroom Theater. Featuring progressive comedians from CNN, Comedy Central, Showtime, MTV, Huffington Post, and C-SPAN, the show plays Monday evenings at 8PM until Oct. 15th.
