The Holland production is currently in previews in Groningen and opens on June 16th, 2012 in Rotterdam. The Moscow production of THE LITTLE MERMAID will make its debut on October 6th, 2012.

The stars were shining, including Chita Rivera, Marge Champion, Stephen Schwartz and more, in Flushing Meadows Corona Park Wednesday evening when Queens Theatre hosted its 2012 Gala Fundraiser, a star-studded celebration of the world premiere of HEAT WAVE: THE Jack Cole PROJECT, a new musical homage to legendary stage and screen choreographer Jack Cole. The event raised more than $150,000 for the theatre and its programs, including its educational and outreach programs that bring theatre and the arts to public school students. After more than 5,000 auditions in a coast-to-coast search, ANNIE has announced casting for the orphans for the new production of the classic Tony Award-winning Broadway musical. ANNIE will open on Broadway in Fall 2012 at a Nederlander theatre to be announced. The production will be directed by three-time Tony Award winner James Lapine and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler.

According to Variety, Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment has joined forces with Zorlu Property Group in Turkey to create an Istanbul-based performing arts center. Scheduled to open in 2013, the center will include both a 2,300 and 770-seat theatre.

Ordway Center for the Performing Arts presents the first national tour of the new musical "The Addams Family," based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams. The man who made it happen was Sam Phillips, the 'Father of Rock 'n' Roll,' who discovered them all. The four young musicians united for the only time in their careers for an impromptu recording that has come to be known as one of the greatest rock 'n' roll jam sessions of all time.
Huntington Beach High School and Academy for the Performing Arts senior Elizabeth Romero won the Spotlight competition for non-classical voice after performing at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Saturday night in their annual event, hosted by Broadway star Ben Vereen. Selected as one of eight award winners out of 2300 students from 400 schools, Elizabeth will receive a $5,000 cash scholarship. In other news, HB APA's production of Damn Yankees soared in performance at the John Raitt Awards in Fullerton on Sunday.
