Chairman of Stage Entertainment, Joop van den Ende and Producer and President of Disney Theatrical Productions, Thomas Schumacher announce two premiere productions of THE LITTLE MERMAID. The Holland production is currently in previews in Groningen and opens on June 16th, 2012 in Rotterdam. The Moscow production of THE LITTLE MERMAID will make its debut on October 6th, 2012.

NEWSIES is currently playing at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre (208 W 41st St) for a strictly limited 101 performance run following its critically-hailed stint at Paper Mill Playhouse last fall. The stars were shining, including Chita Rivera, Marge Champion, Stephen Schwartz and more, in Flushing Meadows Corona Park Wednesday evening when Queens Theatre hosted its 2012 Gala Fundraiser, a star-studded celebration of the world premiere of HEAT WAVE: THE Jack Cole PROJECT, a new musical homage to legendary stage and screen choreographer Jack Cole. The event raised more than $150,000 for the theatre and its programs, including its educational and outreach programs that bring theatre and the arts to public school students. After more than 5,000 auditions in a coast-to-coast search, ANNIE has announced casting for the orphans for the new production of the classic Tony Award-winning Broadway musical. ANNIE will open on Broadway in Fall 2012 at a Nederlander theatre to be announced. The production will be directed by three-time Tony Award winner James Lapine and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler.

Audiences are invited to discover the magic all over again of the two-time Emmy Award winning, and two-time Tony® Award-nominated production: Cathy Rigby is PETER PAN. Families and fans alike have their chance to "fly"into the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts for this magical production running August 1-5, 2012. Tickets are on sale to the public this Saturday, May 19 at 10am. According to Variety, Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment has joined forces with Zorlu Property Group in Turkey to create an Istanbul-based performing arts center. Scheduled to open in 2013, the center will include both a 2,300 and 770-seat theatre.

Broadway In Chicago today announced the two award recipients from the First Annual Illinois High School Musical Theater Awards: Meadow Nguy from O'Fallon, Ill. (O'Fallon Township High School) and Nathan Salstone from Northbrook, Ill. (Glenbrook North High School), who will represent the state of Illinois at The Jimmy™ Awards in New York on June 25, 2012.

Ordway Center for the Performing Arts presents the first national tour of the new musical "The Addams Family," based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams. "The Addams Family" runs from tonight, May 8 through May 20 as a part of the Ordway's 2011-2012 Theater Season.

Newsies, the new American musical that just received eight Tony Award nominations including Best Musical, will be featured on ABC's "Nightline" tonight, May 3. Correspondent John Berman talks with the cast of Newsies and explains how the plot, set in 1899, has re-energized a new protest generation. "Nightline" airs nationally on ABC at 11:30p.m.

On December 4, 1956, an auspicious twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley together. The place was Sun Records' storefront studio in Memphis. The man who made it happen was Sam Phillips, the 'Father of Rock 'n' Roll,' who discovered them all. The four young musicians united for the only time in their careers for an impromptu recording that has come to be known as one of the greatest rock 'n' roll jam sessions of all time.

Huntington Beach High School and Academy for the Performing Arts senior Elizabeth Romero won the Spotlight competition for non-classical voice after performing at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Saturday night in their annual event, hosted by Broadway star Ben Vereen. Selected as one of eight award winners out of 2300 students from 400 schools, Elizabeth will receive a $5,000 cash scholarship. In other news, HB APA's production of Damn Yankees soared in performance at the John Raitt Awards in Fullerton on Sunday.
