Last night, June 25, the stars of the upcoming revival of Jekyll & Hyde, Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis (Rock of Ages) and Grammy Award Nominee Deborah Cox (Aida), hosted the 4th annual National High School Musical Theater Awards at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre. The show featured 60 of America's most talented young musical theater performers vying for the "Jimmy Award" for Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor. This year, Elizabeth Romero, Joshua Grosso were crowned the night's big winners. Each received $10,000 scholarship awards for their efforts. Runners up, who each recieved $2,500 in scholarships, were Evan Greenberg, Drew Shafranek, Nicolette Burton, and Erica Durham. ANNIE, the new production of the classic Tony Award-winning musical, is now on sale. ANNIE, which features a Tony Award-winning score by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin and a Tony Award-winning book by Thomas Meehan, will be directed by three-time Tony Award-winner James Lapine and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler. The production begins previews on October 3 at the Palace Theatre (1567 Broadway at 47th Street). Opening night is Thursday, November 8.

Currently onstage at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis is the period musical spectacular Roman Holiday. Based on the iconic film, the show features the music of Cole Porter, including hits like 'Easy to Love,' 'Begin the Beguine,' 'Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye' and 'Riding High', in addition to rarely heard gems that fit perfectly into the story. The production began preview performances on June 9 and opens tonight, June 15. The run is scheduled to continue through August 19 on the McGuire Proscenium Stage.
