Paper Mill Playhouse has announced the Winter-Spring, 2012 Season of Children's Programming.

The NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development's Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions will present a workshop production of the new show Pool Boy at the Provincetown Playhouse March 22 - 25. Directed by Steinhardt professor of musical theater, John Simpkins, the show features music and lyrics by Niko Tsakalakos, with book and lyrics by Janet Allard.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced today that Kenny and Marleen Alhadeff, NAMT members and partners in Junkyard Dog Productions, have made a four-year pledge to support NAMT's National Fund for New Musicals, a program that awards grants to not-for-profit member theatres to support the development of new works. This grant helps match a 5-year leadership pledge made by Stacey Mindich in 2011. Together, these contributions create a solid, vital foundation on which NAMT will build the future of this young program.

On Monday, March 12, 2012, New York Theatre Barn will present NYTB in the D-Lounge, a monthly concert for emerging musical theatre writers (now in its 5th year), at the Daryl Roth Theatre. The March 2012 installment of NYTB in the D-Lounge features composer/lyricists Joey Contreras and Stephanie Johnstone.

Paper Mill Playhouse will open its 2012-2013 season with one, singular sensation, A Chorus Line. Winner of nine Tony® Awards including "Best Musical," A Chorus Line continues to resonate with audiences of every generation. In November, Millburn is alive with The Sound of Music. Based on Maria von Trapp's inspiring true life story, The Sound of Music features an unforgettable score by Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein with such memorable songs as "My Favorite Things," "Do-Re-Mi," "Edelweiss," and "Climb Every Mountain."

Silk Road Rising will present Motti Lerner's new play Paulus, translated by Hillel Harkin, directed by Daniella Topol, and featuring: Joseph Anthony Foronda*, Adam Poss*, Diana Simonzadeh*, Brent Barnes, Lacy Katherine Campbell, Bryson Engelen, Justin James Farley, Christopher Meister, and Chris Popio.

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee- Producing Artistic Director, Todd Schmidt- Managing Director) in partnership with VSA-NJ will present its first ever creative drama class for students with developmental disabilities ages 9 to 12. This class meets Fridays from April 13 through May 25, 2012 from 3:45 till 4:45 PM. This six week program costs $170 per student. Space is limited, so register today.

Paper Mill Playhouse has just announced casting for Damn Yankees, directed by Paper Mill Playhouse's Producing Artistic Director, Mark S. Hoebee, with choreography by Denis Jones. The cast features Howard McGillin (Applegate), Chryssie Whitehead (Lola), Christopher Charles Wood (Joe Hardy), Joseph Kolinski (Joe Boyd), Patti Cohenour (Meg Boyd) and Nancy Anderson (Gloria Thorpe). Damn Yankees begins performances on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, and runs at the Millburn, New Jersey theater through Sunday, April 1, 2012.

From December 1, 2011 through January 18, 2012 JerseyArts.com invited the public to vote for their favorite nonprofit arts groups in its fourth annual People's Choice Awards. The categories ranged from theater and performing arts center, to museum and gallery, to symphony and dance company. Many organizations rallied their audiences to vote and in total a record number of over 6800 people cast their ballot in this year's awards.

Pittsburgh CLO has announced the cast for the CLO Cabaret premiere of the hysterical off-Broadway comedy Ruthless! The Musical, which will run January 26 through May 6 at the CLO Cabaret.
