Transport Group to Present Revival of Shaw's 'Bury the Dead' Starting 10/31

Transport Group, the winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and a 2007 Obie Award, will present the first major New York revival of Irwin Shaw's Bury the Dead, directed by Joe Calarco, beginning performances Friday, October 31, at 220 East 4 Street, between Avenues A and B (6 to Astor Place, W/N to 8th Street or F/V to Second Avenue). The opening has been scheduled for Sunday, November 9, at 3pm.

Village Theatre Holds 8th Annual Youth Education Luncheon 10/23

Village Theatre will hold its Eighth Annual Youth Education Luncheon, Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, WA. The luncheon will support Village Theatre's youth education scholarships and free arts education programs. The program features emcee, Dave Ross of 'The Dave Ross Show' on NewsTalk 97.3 KIRO as Master of Ceremonies.

NAMT to Launch New National Fund for New Musicals Program

At their 20th Annual Festival of New Musicals today, the National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced the launch of the National Fund for New Musicals, a new program which will provide grants to support producers and writers during the process of creating, developing, and producing new musicals.

Bailey Hanks to Star in Paper Mill's HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Artistic Director, Mark W. Jones-Executive Director) just announced Bailey Hanks of Broadway's Legally Blonde will star as 'Sharpay' in Paper Mill's upcoming production of Disney's High School Musical. The rest of the cast will be announced later this week.

Papermill Playhouse Announces New Children's Theatre Series

Perfect for age's four to fourteen, the Paper Mill Playhouse Children's Theatre Series has partnered with the best and brightest theatre companies to bring charming, whimsical, and educational performances filled with audience participation and adventure. All shows take place on select Saturdays and Sundays in the fall and spring and begin at 10:00am. Tickets are $15 for orchestra and box seats and $12 for mezzanine seats.
