New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) announced today that internationally acclaimed theatre designer and six-time Tony Award Winner Bob Crowley will be honored at the NYTW 2015 Spring Gala on Monday, May 11, 2015. The event, which will be held at the Edison Ballroom (240 W 47th St.) will be chaired by Disney Theatrical Production President Thomas Schumacher, Sherie Rene Scott, Jack O'Brien, and John Barrett.

Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, the award-winning worldwide smash hit Broadway musical, is coming to South Bend as a special engagement to the Broadway Theatre League 2014-2015 Broadway in South Bend season. Produced by NETworks Presentations, this elaborate theatrical production will come to life on stage at The Morris Performing Arts Center for two performances only this week, April 29 and 30.

Toronto's ONCE Announces Final Extension at Ed Mirvish Theatre

David Mirvish is extending for the final time the Toronto production of the Tony Award-winning 'Best Musical' ONCE. The production, which began performances at the Ed Mirvish Theatre on February 10, 2015, will now play until June 28. But the show must leave the Ed Mirvish Theatre on that day because Disney's production of NEWSIES moves into the venue the following week.

Today, April 18th, TDF will host a special reception and performance of The Heidi Chronicles to celebrate the show's Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Wendy Wasserstein, and to raise funds for the arts education program she co-founded, TDF's Open Doors. Open Doors, now in its 17th year, is the first arts education program to be awarded a special Tony Honor for 'Excellence in the Theatre.'

The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway announced the nominees this morning for the 2014-15 season. The first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season, the organization is celebrating its 64th season of bestowing awards of excellence in the field of theater. The Outer Critics Circle is an association with members affiliated with more than ninety newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations, Internet, and theatre publications in America and abroad.
