The Public Theater is gearing up for its 2017 Free Shakespeare in the Park season, beginning Tuesday, May 23 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, continuing a 55-year tradition of free theater in Central Park. The rarely seen Julius Caesar, directed by The Public's Artistic Director Oskar Eustis, begins previews Tuesday, May 23 and runs through Sunday, June 18 with an official press opening on Monday, June 12. The Public Theater announced complete casting today for TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS, based on the acclaimed book by best-selling author Cheryl Strayed and adapted for the stage by Academy Award-nominated writer Nia Vardalos, with direction by Thomas Kail. This richly funny, uplifting new show is co-conceived by Marshall Heyman, Thomas Kail, and Nia Vardalos and will also feature Vardalos as the anonymous online advice columnist 'Sugar.'

The Public Theater presents MOBILE UNIT'S HAMLET, directed by Patricia McGregor. The sit-down run of HAMLET follows a free three-week tour to the five boroughs bringing Shakespeare to audiences who have limited or no access to the arts. The Shakespeare classic will run in The Public Theater's Shiva Theater through Sunday, October 9. Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, The Public's Free Shakespeare in the Park all-female production of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW began performances on May 24 and is part of the global 400th anniversary celebration of William Shakespeare's life and death. DEATH FOR SYDNEY BLACK is part of terraNOVA Rx, four exciting productions, including ANIMALS COMMIT SUICIDE by J. Julian Christopher, playing in repertory as part of their 11th Season. DEATH FOR SYDNEY BLACK will play a two week limited engagement from Sunday, December 1st through Sunday, December 15th, 2013 at IRT Theater (located in the Archive Building at 154 Christopher St, New York). Opening is Saturday, December 7 @ 5pm.
