The New York Times announced today the ninth annual Arts & Leisure Weekend, Jan. 7 to 10. The Times's signature event is a four-day celebration of the arts featuring TimesTalks interviews between New York Times journalists and celebrated guests from film, media, music, television and theater.

Variety has reported that Natalie Portman will produce and star in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a film adapted from the bestselling book by Seth Grahame-Smith (and Jane Austen). It is a retelling of Austen's classic Pride and Prejudice (yes, with zombies).

Zooey Deschanel, star of the romantic comedy '(500) Days of Summer' and sister of BONES' Emily Deschanel, will guest-star in 'The Goop on the Girl,' a special holiday-themed episode of BONES airing Thursday, Dec. 10 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Sundance Institute announced today the lineup of films selected to screen in the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions for the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Matt Weaver & Scott Prisand, two of ROCK OF AGES' lead producers and co-owners of the LA-based Corner Store Entertainment, have two films in the top dramatic category at Sundance Film Festival. Presenters include Meryl Streep, Joel and Ethan Coen, Willem Dafoe, Ellen Burstyn, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Anthony Mackie, Oliver Platt, Jim Sheridan and Brooke Shields. The event will be hosted by Comedian Kumail Nanjiani at the ceremony, which will take place at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan.

'Saturday Night Live' rings in the holiday season with original shows on three consecutive weekends, beginning December 5 with Blake Lively and Rihanna both taking the stage in studio 8H for the first time.

As previously reported, screen star and Drama Desk-winning actor Anthony Hopkins will star in Thor, the Kenneth Branagh helmed film for Marvel Studios. Production begins in January and Paramount Pictures will distribute the film on May 20, 2011.

The New York Philharmonic will present SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert on March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. This celebration of the 80th birthday of the great Broadway and film composer/lyricist will include his most enduring orchestral music and songs - performed, in some cases, by the stars of the original Broadway cast productions - in addition to rarely-heard material.
