December at Blue Note Hawaii, the state's premier venue for the world's most celebrated artists, promises to be one of the most musically-diverse months yet. The club kicks off with two nights of the island's hottest reggae acts with Revive the Live Waikiki Edition, followed by tributes to Billie Holiday and Duke Ellington, singer-songwriter Imua Garza and a nostalgic run with Henry Kapono as he presents the Songs of C&K. Acoustic rock and reggae artist Trevor Hall, the legendary Willie K and soulful guitarist Tavana take us into the middle of the month, leading up to GRAMMY(R) Award-winning trumpeter Herb Alpert. Tony-nominated Broadway actress Loretta Ables Sayre is scheduled to make her Blue Note debut in Waikiki on Nov. 14 with shows at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Ables Sayre's performances will feature jazz standard selections from the Great American Songbook. Joining Loretta will be Hawaii-based musicians Jim Howard on piano, Dean Taba on bass and Darryl Pellegrini on drums.
