The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the 2011-2012 seasons for the Kennedy Center, National Symphony Orchestra and Washington National Opera. In wide-ranging programming that covers theater, dance, classical music, jazz, and productions for young people, the Kennedy Center continues its commitment, as the nation's center for the performing arts, to producing and presenting the best of national and international arts.

Intiman Theatre announces a one-night-only special event, the 'Valentine's Day Cabaret,' on Monday, February 14th at 7:30 pm. The concert will be hosted by Daniel Breaker (A Doctor In Spite Of Himself and Broadway's Shrek and Passing Strange), and newest addition to Intiman's 2011 season, A Boy and His Soul writer/performer Colman Domingo. Designed as a donor appreciation event, Intiman will also make a limited number of seats available for purchase to the general public.

Australian actor/singer/director David Campbell, whose recent CD On Broadway is fast approaching international success, was in New York this past weekend as an ambassador for G'Day USA and to promote his family album Floodlight to be released in stores in Australia February 1 and already a hit on iTunes. The album is a $4.95 contribution to aid the flood victims in Australia. In our conversation Campbell talks about the album, his background and his busy schedule in Australia as artistic director of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

Bay Area Cabaret continues its landmark season at the historic Venetian Room with 'Vintage Rose,' the West Coast solo concert debut of Tony Award winner and A.C.T. alumna Anika Noni Rose. Direct from the Lincoln Center, where she will appear early in February as a part of its acclaimed American Songbook series, this intimate evening will feature songs made famous by Blossom Dearie, Lena Horne, and other legendary artists. Actor/singer Luca Ellis is having a breakthrough year portraying Frank Sinatra in the huge hit Hoboken to Hollywood at the Edgemar Center for the Arts, now extended to the end of January. Having portrayed Sinatra last year with the cast of Louis and Keely @ the El Portal, he is no stranger to the legend. It shows, for when you close your eyes, you feel you are listening to Sinatra himself. Handsome and confident, Ellis talks about the show, its eventual move to a larger space - one that has been confirmed by director Jeremy Aldridge, who also directed Louis and Keeley Live at the Sahara to great acclaim - and shares other insights about singers and the art of singing.
