Sam Cooke was an innovator and pioneer of the music industry. He translated folk, country, gospel and blues into the language of soul. Southern Roots recording artist Brian Owens performs Cooke favorites such as "You Send Me," "A Change Is Gonna Come," and "Chain Gang." Following in the tradition of great vocalists such as Nat King Cole, Sam Cooke and Al Jarreau, Owens approaches his craft with a keen sense of responsibility and remains true to his moral and spiritual values, bringing true music and talent in a world of manufactured music.

Brian Owens is rapidly earning a reputation as one of the most promising young vocalists on today's music scene. At the age of 29, Owens has already shared the stage with many notable performers: Peter Martin, Peter Mayer, Christine Brewer, Herlin Riley, Greg Hutchinson, and Neal Caine. Owens has opened for jazz legend Ramsey Lewis, smooth jazz artists Boney James and Spyro Gyra, and has made television appearances on ABC's "Good Morning America" and BET's "Jazz Discovery."

Tickets for Brian Owens are $10 adult reserved/$5 child reserved. Call MetroTix at 314.534.1111 or visit www.TheSheldon.org. For more information, contact The Sheldon during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
