Ars Nova has announced a slew of special events that will be presented following its current production of 'Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812,' an electro-pop opera ripped from a scandalous slice of Tolstoy's War and Peace.

OUT LOUD is Ars Nova's FREE play-reading series dedicated to developing new work by emerging playwrights.

Long Wharf Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Managing Director Joshua Borenstein, present The Killing of Sister George, by Frank Marcus and adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, directed by and starring Kathleen Turner.

Ken Davenport of Davenport Theatrical Enterprises presents a reading of the new play Schooled, written by Lisa Lewis and directed by Jules Ochoa, as part of the Davenport Developmental Reading Series. Schooled stars Tony nominee Peter Friedman (Playwrights Horizon's Circle Mirror Transformation), Sarah Steele (Lincoln Center Theatre/LCT3's Slowgirl), Harry Zittel (Lincoln Center Theatre/LCT3's All-American) and Zoe Winters (Lincoln Center Theatre/LCT3's 4000 Miles). The reading will take place on Monday, December 3rd at 8pm at The Davenport Studios, located at 250 West 49th Street, Suite 304, in New York City.

Contagious Laughter LLC. welcomes Roxie Lucas and Kevin O'Donnell to the cast of the World Premiere of LET'S KILL GRANDMA THIS CHRISTMAS by Brian Gianci, directed by John Dapolito. LET'S KILL GRANDMA THIS CHRISTMAS will begin performances tonight, November 25; it will celebrate its opening on Monday, December 3 and will run through January 6, 2013 at the Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street).

Now, they take you on a fantastical journey in their first off-Broadway show. The limited run engagement commences November 23, 2012 and runs through January 5, 2013.

Dixon Place will present the music of Greencard Wedding and La Lucha Art Group's production of PORNING THE PLANET - THE DE-SENSITIZATION OF A NATION, A Works in Progress Solo Showing, Written/Performed by Raquel Almazan, Directed by Penny Arcade. SPACE on Ryder Farm announces its inaugural benefit - SPACE in the City - set for Monday, December 3rd from 7-10pm at Ars Nova loft at 511 W. 54th Street in New York City. The New Group presents the first production in its 2012-2013 season, the world premiere of The Good Mother, a new play by Francine Volpe. Sundance Institute today announced the seven artists selected for its 2013 Playwrights Retreat at Ucross Foundation, February 4-22, 2013. The annual writing colony at the 20,000-acre working cattle ranch outside of Sheridan, Wyo. provides a supportive environment for artists to create new work and receive guidance and reactions to it at an early stage. Under the supervision of Philip Himberg, Artistic Director of the Theatre Program, and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the Playwrights Retreat is made possible through the generosity of Ucross Foundation.

Mark Blum has joined the cast of The New Group's The Good Mother, written by Francine Volpe and directed by Scott Elliott. He joins Darren Goldstein, Gretchen Mol, Alfredo Narciso and Eric Nelsen in the premiere of this new play, replacing the previously announced Bill Sage, who had to withdraw due to a scheduling conflict prior to start of rehearsals. Mark Blum's Broadway credits include Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Twelve Angry Men, A Thousand Clowns, Lost in Yonkers, and more. He has appeared previously at The New Group in Wallace Shawn and Allen Shawn's play/opera The Music Teacher, among others.
