Songs from the new musical FICTION IN PHOTOGRAPHS will receive an industry performance today, August 7th at 3:00PM at the Laurie Beechman Theater located at the WestBank Café at 42nd Street and 9th Avenue.

The York Theatre Company, in association with Robert D. Wachs, has announced the addition of Emmy-Award nominee Rob Morrow ("Northern Exposure," "Number3s") to the cast of the lab workshop of the new disco musical, Last Dance, featuring the music of legendary pop master Paul Jabara.

Founded in 1979 by its artistic director Jeffrey Horowitz, Theatre for a New Audience is a modern classical theatre that produces Shakespeare alongside other major authors in a dialogue that spans centuries. Its 33rd season, the last before moving to its first home adjacent to BAM in the new Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District, features boldly diverse works from William Shakespeare, Franz Kafka in a theatrical adaptation by Colin Teevan, Samuel Beckett and Wallace Shawn. In a co-production with The Public Theater, Mr. Shawn's plays will be part of The Wallace Shaw-Andre Gregory Project.

Two-time Tony Award winner John Cullum (for Shenandoah and On the Twentieth Century; additional nominations for Urinetown, 110 in the Shade and On a Clear Day You…; Wilder at PH), Darren Pettie (This and Spatter Pattern at PH, Butley on Broadway, "Mad Men") and Sarah Sokolovic (Drama Desk Award nominee for The Shaggs at PH) will star in the New York premiere of DETROIT, a new play by Lisa D'Amour (2011 Pulitzer Prize finalist for this play, 2011 Steinberg Playwright Award winner for her body of work, Obie Award winner for Nita and Zita). Also in the cast are Oscar and Tony Award nominee Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone, "The Office," On the Mountain at PH) and Emmy Award nominee David Schwimmer ("Friends," "Band of Brothers," PH debut). Directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Maple and Vine at PH, The Thugs, Stunning, Naked Angels' This Wide Night), previews will begin Friday, August 24 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater as the first production of the theater company's new season. The New Group has announced complete casting for Francine Volpe's suspenseful drama The Good Mother. Darren Goldstein, Alfredo Narciso, Eric Nelsen and Bill Sage join Gretchen Mol (previously announced) in this world premiere directed by Scott Elliott. Previews for the play, which launches The New Group's 2012-13 season, begin October 29 in advance of an Official Opening Night on Thursday, November 15. A limited Off-Broadway engagement is slated through December 22 at The New Group @ Theatre Row (The Acorn Theatre / 410 West 42nd Street / Acorn Theatre).

Stage and screen star Sanaa Lathan (A Raisin in the Sun, Contagion) returns to the title role in Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage's By the Way, Meet Vera Stark for its West Coast premiere at the Geffen Playhouse. Lathan, who originated the character of Vera Stark in the critically acclaimed New York run, will once again take the stage as the 1930's era maid turned movie star, reunited with original cast member Kimberly Hebert Gregory (Spike Lee's Red Hook Summer) reprising her role as fellow aspiring African American actress Lottie. Broadway vet and Geffen alum Merle Dandridge (Spamalot, Rent, Aida) will take on the spicy role of Anna Mae, who fakes a Brazilian accent for a slice of fame, and former leading lady of ABC's Man Up, Amanda Detmer, will portray Gloria Mitchell, the white starlet dubbed "America's little sweetie pie" and Vera's first employer. Helmed by award-winning director Jo Bonney, the West Coast premiere cast also features Kevin Carroll (Paid in Full, Being John Malkovich), Spencer Garrett (Iron Man 3, Air Force One) and Geffen alum Mather Zickel (Extraordinary Chambers, Rachel Getting Married).

The 19th annual Obie Award-winning Ice Factory Festival presents the New York premiere of Miss Lilly Gets Boned by Bekah Brunstetter, starring Jessica Dickey (Wit on Broadway, The Amish Project) and Liz Wisan (Other Desert Cities), along with Brian Belcinski (My Base and Scurvy Heart), Adam Blodgett (The Cotillion), Sanam Erfani (Cats Don't Grin), Aaron McDaniel (Aquila's Macbeth), David Rosenblatt (The Play About My Dad) and Chris Thorn (Guthrie's Henry V). The play, directed by David F. Chapman, opens tonight, July 18 and continues through July 21, 2012. Check out photos from the production below!

Singers Forum, in conjunction with Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor/producer Alec Baldwin, have announced the four projects chosen for the first-annual Alec Baldwin Fellowship at Singers Forum. A year-long program devoted to the individualized workshopping process of each project, the Fellowship is an opportunity for emerging artists to hone and craft their work in a safe and nurturing environment. A Festival of the completed works will be presented in the Fall of 2013.
