After a nine-month-long search, Quincy Ledbetter from Brooklyn, NY was crowned the “PROJECT CRE8” winner. The once-in-a-lifetime contest is giving one aspiring, undiscovered filmmaker the potential opportunity to produce a feature film with a million-dollar budget. The contest culminated at the BET Networks Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA on Friday, September 28 where five finalists pitched their film to a panel of television and film executives. Quincy's original script, “Alieu the Dreamer” rose to the top of the heap and was selected the winning script. “Alieu the Dreamer” is based on a world where humans haven't dreamed for three decades, and a driven government agent discovers a struggling young man in the projects who has started dreaming. BET will purchase Quincy's screenplay and work with him and Paramount Players to produce the original script.

BET Networks today announced Kelly Price and Kelly Rowland are boarding AMERICAN SOUL, the newest scripted drama series that chronicles the untold rise of Soul Train. The powerhouse singers will pull double duty on the music-based series, showcasing both their incredible voices and acting chops. Kelly Price joins the cast as a series regular, while Kelly Rowland will portray Soul legend Gladys Knight, who was instrumental in launching Soul Train to national prominence. Rowland will also record an original version of Knight's classic hit, 'Midnight Train to Georgia' for the role.

Hulu has greenlit a 10-episode order of Crossing Swords, a new animated comedy series from the Emmy Award winning Robot Chicken executive producers John Harvatine IV and Tom Root. The series from Stoopid Buddy Stoodios is set to premiere as part of the Hulu Originals slate in 2020.
