About Face Theatre Board President Bill Michel today announced the appointment of Jason Held as AFT's new Executive Director. Held brings his experience as a lawyer, political fundraiser and advocate for LGBTQ youth to AFT, most recently working for the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance.

It is designed as an imaginary city to house 400 million people of the time, considered the entire population of the United States. Jonah Bokaer's fascination with the fusion of architecture, technology and choreography is front and center this year, in the United States and Internationally. Consider his 2010 commissioned world premieres: a choreography and architecture commission from Dance Works Rotterdam, Holland; the opening of Pavilion Dance's new building in Bournemouth, England; and Georgia Institute of Technology, where he is also the school's first Artist in Residence. Bokaer, who along with John Jasperse, created CPR - Center for Performance Research, was also instrumental in the architectural design of the performing space and facilities. For over fifty years Lois Dodd has maintained a loft studio on Second Street near the Bowery. In the late 1960s she turned her eyes out a West window, over a nineteenth century cemetery to the buildings and skyline beyond, and began to paint the view.
