For over fifty years Lois Dodd has maintained a loft studio on Second Street near the Bowery. In the late 1960s she turned her eyes out a West window, over a nineteenth century cemetery to the buildings and skyline beyond, and began to paint the view.

ONECITY, envisioned by Insley, is a 675 mile square architectural labyrinth of mythology buried in the central North American plains. Through drawings, paintings, and photomontage the artists created a civilization based on his written manuscript leading to the concept of ONECITY. For over forty years, Insley created this ongoing project which was exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum, NYC in 1984.

The work features a commissioned score by composer Hahn Rowe, performed live by a string quartet from the International Contemporary Ensemble. Scenic and visual design is by Jasperse, with lighting design by Jasperse and Joe Levasseur. Presented by REDCAT, as part of the Sharon Disney Lund Dance Series, Truth will run at the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater Wednesday, April 14, 2010 through Sunday, April 18, 2010.
