PYT Launches Fairfield 2018 Program

After a critically acclaimed program in 2017 which saw PYT Fairfield win Western Sydney's first Helpmann Award (Best Presentation for Children, PYT and Force Majeure, JUMP FIRST, ASK LATER) the company announce their 2018 Program. Now considered one of the most exciting arts companies in the country, in 2018 their work will be presented in Carriageworks for Sydney Festival, Sydney Opera House, Museum of Contemporary Art and sites across Western Sydney including the local pool and a garden created by refugees to support the settlement of asylum seekers.

Scottsdale Center Announces Holiday Programming

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts offers a wide variety of holiday shows in December something to suit everyone's taste ranging from the tart-tongued Sister in Sister's Christmas Catechism to masterful mariachis performing in A Merry-Achi Christmas to a singalong to the film Grease. Here's what's coming up:

Juilliard Dance's Season to Open with NEW DANCES: EDITION 2017

Juilliard Dance, under the leadership of acting artistic director Taryn Kaschock Russell, opens its season in December with New Dances: Edition 2017 featuring four world-premiere dances created for Juilliard students by choreographers Bryan Arias (first-year class), Gentian Doda (second-year class), Roy Assaf (third-year class), and Gustavo Ram rez Sansano (fourth-year class). The works are Bryan Arias' The Sky Seen From the Moon; Gentian Doda's This Silence; Roy Assaf's 25 People; and Gustavo Ramirez Sansano's A Thousand Thoughts.

Scottsdale Arts presents An Evening with Ira Glass

Ira Glass, public radio host and creator and producer of This American Life, returns to the Valley on Jan. 20, 2018, to share lessons from his life and career in storytelling in Seven Things I've Learned: An Evening With Ira Glass. His appearance at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown Phoenix is part of Scottsdale Arts' new Scottsdale Arts Presents series. During his presentation, Glass will use audio clips, music and video to mix stories live onstage and help his audience better follow the creative process of one of our nation's foremost storytellers. What inspires him to create? What drives his passion? How have failures and successes informed his decisions?

New Work For The Stage: Sundance Institute And MASS MoCA Announce Theatre Lab Projects

Four projects representing diverse world voices, each with bold and independent visions of how art can elevate the human experience, comprise this year's selected projects for the two-week Sundance Institute Theatre Lab at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA), convening December 3-17, 2017, with a public performance of another project slated for December 9. The Theatre Labs process is rigorous and generative. Dedicated to the creation and development of forward-thinking theater; projects are cast individually, rehearsed daily and benefit from concentrated, uninterrupted time and resources.

Stage Version of Ta-Nehisi Coates Book, David Adjmi's STEREOPHONIC and More Among 2017 Sundance Institute Theatre Lab Selections

ClampArt to Open 'Lori Nix/Kathleen Gerber | Empire'

ClampArt is pleased to announce Lori Nix/Kathleen Gerber Empire. Though Nix and Gerber have been working collaboratively for over sixteen years, this is the first exhibition at ClampArt to credit both artists equally for their imagery.

Yale Rep to Present Nambi E. Kelley's Stage Adaptation of NATIVE SON

Yale Repertory Theatre presents NATIVE SON, the critically acclaimed new play by Nambi E. Kelley adapted from the iconic American novel by Richard Wright, directed by Seret Scott, November 24 December 16 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Opening Night is Thursday, November 30.

PACIFIC STANDARD TIME FESTIVAL Announced for January 2018

The Pacific Standard Time Festival: Live Art LA/LA, a celebration of performance art presented as part of the Getty-led initiative Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, will run from January 11 through 21, 2018. Organized by REDCAT, CalArts' Center for Contemporary Arts, in collaboration with partner organizations throughout the city, the 11-day festival will feature more than 75 works by Latin American and Latino artists, performed at more than 20 indoor and outdoor spaces throughout greater Los Angeles. Supported by a major grant from the Getty Foundation, events will range from large-scale, site-specific performances to multi-artist evenings and will be presented in parks, plazas, galleries, theaters, and busy urban settings.

LIZZIE Rock Musical to Make Chicago Premiere as Firebrand's Inaugural Show

Firebrand Theatre, the first musical theatre company committed to employing and empowering women by expanding opportunities on and off the stage, is pleased to present its inaugural production, the Chicago premiere of LIZZIE, the rock musical based on the true-life story of accused axe-murderess Lizzie Borden.
