Performances of The Mutilated will take place November 1-24 at the New Ohio Theatre. Critics are welcome as of Thursday, November 7 for an official opening of Sunday, November 10 at 7pm. The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) welcomes five-time Academy Award-winning composer John Williams will conduct the BSO in a special benefit concert tonight, June 4 at 8 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, appearing at the personal invitation of BSO Music Director Marin Alsop. Williams, celebrating 40 years of collaborating with legendary director Steven Spielberg, will conduct the BSO in selections from some of his most popular film scores. Furthermore, Williams is donating his services for this important fundraising concert for the BSO musicians' pension fund.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will open Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, A Streetcar Named Desire, at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, in the Angus Bowmer Theatre. This production is directed by Christopher Liam Moore, who, along with many of the same collaborators, designed and staged the extremely popular Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in 2010.
The 2013 Boston Pops season, May 8-June 15, under the direction of Keith Lockhart, will present a season-long tribute to the world of movie music, along with programs featuring a wide variety of American musical styles, including jazz, bluegrass, country, gospel, pop, classic standards from the 50s and 60s, and show-stopping songs of Broadway and the American Songbook. Sundance Institute has announced that playwright and Sundance Institute Theatre Lab alum Branden Jacobs-Jenkins will receive the first-ever Tennessee Williams Award from the Institute's Theatre Program, which supports the development of new work for the stage. The Cleveland Orchestra announces the appointment of Mark Williams as director of artistic planning. Mr. Williams will be responsible for managing all aspects of artistic planning and programming at The Cleveland Orchestra, including managing all artist relations, programming, and presentations at Severance Hall and the Blossom Festival. He will begin his duties with the Orchestra on January 7, 2013.
