BWW Reviews: JAMES JOYCE'S THE DEAD
by Justin J Sacramone
- Dec 21, 2014
As December steamrolls into the station, we are reminded, over and over again, with tv ads, a 7 mile radius of traffic surrounding the Mall at Millenia, and tepid temperatures that the holidays are here. Despite all that, what causes the most turmoil with the holidays is that terrifying F-word. Family. Families and the holidays go together like, well, drinking and the holidays. At the Mad Cow Theatre, you will find all of those things living and breathing full life in an oddly optimistic staging of JAMES JOYCE'S THE DEAD that has enough energy onstage to put the Sun Rain storming by to shame.

BWW Reviews: SCROOGE IN ROUGE Generates Lots of Laughs at Rancho Mirage's Desert Rose Playhouse
by Audrey Liebross
- Nov 18, 2014
The Desert Rose Playhouse, in Rancho Mirage California, is presenting a hilariously funny sendup of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, SCROOGE IN ROUGE. The plot's premise is that a small music hall on London's outskirts plans to present A CHRISTMAS CAROL. When all but three actors in the twenty-member cast develop food poisoning, the three decide to go forward with each of them taking on multiple roles. The puns and other corny jokes fly in this brilliant production. If you see only one version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL this year, it should be this one.

by BWW News Desk

Leslie Ezra Smith is, arguably, becoming one of the most-respected actors on the Pittsburgh stage. One of Pittsburgh's favorite sons seems to earn genuine acclaim from his 'passionate' portrayals on stage. Even more than a gifted actor, this national spoken word, and slam poet, is also a father, playwright, and a science aficionado. Smith is preparing to portray the role of Walter Lee Younger in the, upcoming, 'A Raisin in the Sun', in the premiere offering of the, new, Erie Theater Company.
