Curio Theatre Company to Continue Season with THE BALD SOPRANO, 12/2-9

Curio Theatre Company continues its 11th Season with an updated take on Eugene Ionesco's, The Bald Soprano. This adaptation is by Tina Howe. Charlotte Northeast directs. This absurdist classic runs December 2-19. Opening night is Friday, December 4 at 8 p.m.. Curio shows typically run on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 8 p.m. schedule.  The first preview is on a Wednesday. Tickets cost $15-$25 per person. Playwrights Horizons Now Accepting Lottery Entries for First Preview of HIR

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) begins accepting entries today, Wednesday, October 7, for the LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to their New York premiere of HIR, a new play by Obie Award-winning theater artist Taylor Mac (A 24-Decade History of Popular Music, The Lily's Revenge, The Walk Across America for Mother Earth, The Be(a)st of Taylor Mac, The Young Ladies Of).  Directed by theater director and performance artist Niegel Smith (Artistic Director of The Flea), the play is the second production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season.

The Flea Welcomes Niegel Smith as New Artistic Director

The Flea Theater has selected Niegel Smith as its Artistic Director. Smith, a director and performance artist with extensive experience at the Public Theater and other venues, will assume the post on May 18. His appointment was announced by Founding Artistic Director Jim Simpson, Producing Director Carol Ostrow, and The Flea's Board of Directors.

Music Director Marin Alsop, protege of the famous Leonard Bernstein's Young People's Concerts, will share fascinating, age-appropriate insight into Beethoven's creative process for developing that well-known masterpiece. The program also takes the audience into the mind of the composer and narrator Gregory Smith. Josh Kornbluth's HAIKU TUNNEL Returning to The Marsh in January

The Marsh San Francisco presents a revival of master storyteller Josh Kornbluth's hit solo show HAIKU TUNNEL. Inspired by Josh's real-life experiences as a temp worker at a San Francisco law office, HAIKU TUNNEL is a comic re-imagining of his disastrous transition from 'temp' to 'perm.'
