Carmen Cusack and John Lloyd Young Join The Cast of FOR THE RECORD: SCORSESE at The Wallis

Revolutionizing the live musical theater experience, the acclaimed company For The Record makes its triumphant return to Los Angeles in a new production, For The Record: Scorsese - American Crime Requiem. This new show will bring the legendary filmmaker's soundtracks to life in a new generation cabaret from September 21 through October 16 at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. For The Record: Scorsese - American Crime Requiem is co-produced by The Wallis and Ad Astra Live, and is made possible by the generous support of David C. Bohnett.

Cult Classic MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 Coming to Comet This September

Sinclair Television Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (SBGI) (“Sinclair”), and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (“MGM”), partner in COMET, a science fiction broadcast network, announced today a license agreement for episodes of the original MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 (MST3K) from Shout! Factory.

Daphne Rubin-Vega Joins Cast of World Premiere of MISS YOU LIKE HELL at La Jolla Playhouse

La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its world-premiere production of Miss You Like Hell, book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winner Quiara Alegria Hudes (In the Heights, Water by the Spoonful), music and lyrics by acclaimed singer/songwriter Erin McKeown, directed by Lear deBessonet (Public Theatre's The Odyssey) and choreographed by Danny Mefford (Broadway's Fun Home). Commissioned by the Playhouse and developed during the 2016 DNA New Work Series, the production has been extended by one week, now running October 25 - December 4 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre. PSMITH, SUNDIAL, FORTY-TWO STORIES and More Set for City Lit's 2016-17 Season

City Lit Theater's 37th season will honor its traditions while bringing Chicago audiences four plays that will be new to nearly all audience members. The season lineup announced today by City Lit artistic director Terry McCabe includes a mix of three world premieres (two of them adaptations of novels and one original new comedy), plus a classic comedy of the 19th Century that has not been seen in Chicago in 120 years.

Rather, it proudly owns every bit of its wonderful uniqueness and accompanying hilarity. From songs about internet porn to full-frontal puppet nudity, this is a musical that constantly surprises, bringing undeniable laughs along the way. And it's hard to imagine that any theater could create as perfect a production of Avenue Q as the one currently running at Ocean State Theatre Company.
