Snake Oil's Tribute to Rock's Biggest Stars Of The 80s Rocks The Mac 10/27

Snake Oil brings their hair-whipping, guitar-shredding, hard-rocking homage to rock to the McAninch Arts Center on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m. With all the costumes, props and incredible technical special effects, Snake Oil will rock the MAC with covers of everyone favorite hair and glam rock bands of the 80s including KISS, the Scorpions, Poison, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Journey, Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, Queen and Autograph.

Nominations Now Open For NAACP's Most Prestigious Civil Rights Award

NAACP National Board of Directors Chairman Leon W. Russell announced the Association is soliciting nominations for the 104th Spingarn Award.  All nominations for the 104th Spingarn Medal must be submitted, in writing, on or before December 31, 2018.  To be accepted, the postmark date on the envelope must be no later than December 31, 2018.

AS YOU LIKE IT Announced at The Hilberry Theatre

William Shakespeare's As You Like It treads the boards at the Hilberry Theatre beginning Friday, Oct.26 and running through Nov. 11. Directed by Lavinia Hart and set in present day Appalachia, this hilariously subversive comedy allows audiences to view this classic story through a creative lens that transports you to the hills of Tennessee.

BANDSTAND Will Return To Cinemas in November

Due to the success of the initial theatrical release, Fathom Events is bringing "BANDSTAND: The Broadway Musical on Screen" back to cinemas nationwide on November 15 and 19 in celebration of Veterans Day. The high-octane performance of Richard Oberacker and Robert Taylor's Broadway musical, directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton), will once again have audiences dancing in their movie theater seats. In addition to the feature content, audiences will enjoy behind-the-scenes footage of the production.

Full Casting Announced For THE NIGHTINGALES World Premiere

Jenny Topper and Theatre Royal Bath Productions today announce full casting for the world premiere of The Nightingales which will see Steven Pacey, Stefan Adegbola, Sarah Earnshaw, Philip McGinley and Mary Stockley join previously announced BAFTA Award-winning television star and writer Ruth Jones in her highly anticipated return to the stage. The production, directed by RSC Associate Artist Christopher Luscombe and written by William Gaminara, will run at Theatre Royal Bath from Wednesday 31 October to Saturday 10 November, with opening night for press on Wednesday 7 November. The Nightingales will then tour to Cambridge, Cardiff, Chichester and Malvern prior to a West End transfer, with venue and dates to be announced.

Encore Performance For THE MILE-LONG OPERA Added 10/8

This October, 1,000 singers from across New York City's five boroughs will come together on the High Line for the premiere performances of The Mile-Long Opera: a biography of 7 o'clock. Due to overwhelming demand for tickets to the previously announced performances (October 3-7), an encore performance will be added on October 8.Tickets for this additional night will be made available first to members of the public currently on the waitlist, on a first come, first served basis, beginning Thursday, September 27, at noon. Those interested in accessing these tickets may join the waitlist at milelongopera.com. Tickets for The Mile-Long Opera are free, but advance registration is required. A standby line will open 30 minutes prior to the 7:00pm time slot on all performance dates.
