EMILIA Will Transfer to the West End

Following its sell-out run at Shakespeare's Globe, Morgan Lloyd Malcolm's exciting and entertaining new play Emilia, directed by Nicole Charles, bursts into the Vaudeville Theatre for a strictly limited season from 8 March - 15 June 2019.

Casting Announced For DICK WHITTINGTON at the Lyric Hammersmith

The Lyric Hammersmith today announces the full cast for Dick Whittington, its 10th anniversary pantomime, which will be getting the full Lyric treatment. You can expect the usual mix of live music, crazy characters, awesome adventure, singing, dancing, villainous baddies and heroic goodies with a little bit of feline flavour chucked in for good measure.

Edward Hall Announces His Departure from Hampstead Theatre

After almost ten years, Edward Hall will be stepping down as Artistic Director and Joint Chief Executive of Hampstead Theatre in the spring of 2019. When Hall took over Hampstead, the theatre was almost bankrupt and on the brink of closure. Since then, it has produced over a hundred premieres and has become one of the most successful and productive New Writing theatres in the world.

Shakespeare's Globe Announces Programme For 'Shakespeare And Race' Festival

Shakespeare's Globe is delighted to announce the programme for 'Shakespeare and Race', a new festival of events opening 11 August. This is the first time in the Globe's twenty-year history that the topic will be explored in depth over a week. Curated to draw attention to and provide a platform for scholars, practitioners and educators of colour in the teaching, study and performance of Shakespeare, this festival will highlight the importance of race to the consideration of Shakespeare not only in his time, but more urgently, in our own. The festival includes a play American Moor by Keith Hamilton Cobb, a workshop entitled Staging Race and Diversity in the Shakespearean Theatre, The Sam Wanamaker Fellowship Lecture is to be given by Professor Kim F. Hall, a pre-show talk for Emilia with Morgan-Lloyd Malcolm, a panel discussion of actors who have played Othello, and an international symposium featuring Kimberle Crenshaw, Professor of Law at Columbia Law School and UCLA, who coined the term 'intersectionality'. The festival starts and finishes with two theatre productions, Voices in the Dark and Hip-hop Shakespeare Unplugged.

Andre Holland, Mark Rylance & More Join New Season at Shakespeare's Globe

Shakespeare's Globe is delighted to announce Michelle Terry's first season as Artistic Director. 2018's Shakespeare productions include Hamlet, As You Like It, The Two Noble Kinsmen, The Winter's Tale, Othello and Love's Labour's Lost. A premiere of three new plays, a national and international tour of Shakespeare and other performances on and off site are announced together with a year-long programme of events exploring the history and future of theatre censorship, as well as a series of events looking at race, refuge and refugees in relation to Shakespeare.

Lyric Hammersmith Announces New Season

The Lyric Hammersmith has announced its new season running May 2017 to January 2018 including three major new productions: a UK premiere, a new adaptation of a classic and the return of the now traditional Lyric pantomime.

The Lyric Hammersmith's ALADDIN Announces Its Full Cast

The Lyric Hammersmith today announces full casting for its Christmas show, Aladdin. The Lyric's annual panto returns when Aladdin flies into Hammersmith on his magic carpet for some festive fun in true Lyric style. Fresh for 2016, the show will be full of colourful characters, live music, lots of laughs and of course the magical Genie.

Paines Plough Reveals Line-up for COME TO WHERE I'M FROM: LONDON

Artistic Directors of Paines Plough James Grieve and George Perrin today revealed the line-up for COME TO WHERE I'M FROM: LONDON, which will take place across six London venues from 27 June until 6 July. Partnering with new writing theatre company Tamasha, Paines Plough will present 26 writers from across London performing short plays about the place they call home.
