THIRTEEN will once again present a selection of provocative and entertaining Off-Broadway plays, captured live on-stage, in THIRTEEN's signature 'up-close' style.

Tickets for the 2015 Santa Barbara LOL Comedy Festival (SBLOLFEST) are now available for purchase at www.sblolfest.com featuring an all-star line-up of headline comedians. Guillotine Theatre and the National Museum of Women in the Arts present Monique LaForce's new play Hootenanny as part of the Women's Voices Theatre Festival.

The Kennedy Center hosts its 14th annual Page-to-Stage new play festival from Today, September 5 to Monday, September 7, 2015, featuring more than 50 theaters from the D.C. metropolitan area, all with a mission to produce and support new work. The 14th Annual Page-to-Stage event showcases more than 40 new plays by female playwrights and includes nine works that are part of the citywide Women's Voices Theater Festival, which officially begins on September 8.

Headlands Center for the Arts, located in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area's historic Fort Barry, organizes a variety of public programs that complement the artists' residencies and connect visitors to the creative process. Headlands' artist-renovated Mess Hall, where resident artists enjoy chef-prepared meals, is a key component for many on-site public programs and serves delicious locally sourced, organic meals family style.

Some of Australia's best musical talent will come together to present Voices for Change on Monday 28 September at The Sound Lounge, Seymour Centre.  All proceeds go to charity organisation AusCam Freedom Project.

In its fifth edition, The Outstanding Filipino Americans in New York (TOFA-NY) Awards honor 15 organizations and individuals who have inspired the community with their passion, conviction, and achievements. Presented by AARP, TOFA-NY caps the month-long Filipino American Heritage celebrations in the New York tri-state area. This year's TOFA-NY Awards ceremony is slated for 8 p.m. on October 31 at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall.

In 1998, Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner became the first actresses ever nominated together for a Best Actress Tony Award, for their performance as the conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton in the original Broadway production of 'Side Show.' This week, September 1 & 2 at 7:00 PM, Mark Cortale will reunite the two heralded stars of that musical for his ground-breaking Broadway @ The Art House series in Provincetown, featuring SiriusXM Star Seth Rudetsky as pianist and host.

The Douglas Morrisson Theatre 2015-2016 Revelations Season kicks off with the regional premiere of Lynn Nottage's biting satire about racial stereotyping in Hollywood: BY THE WAY, MEET VERA STARK.  By The Way, Meet Vera Stark will have 15 performances, including one preview, tonight, August 27, through September 20, 2015, at the Douglas Morrisson Theatre, 22311 N. Third St. in Hayward, CA.

Central Works concludes its 25th season with a commissioned new work by local playwright Lauren Gunderson, Ada and the Memory Engine, opening October 17 (previews Oct 15 & 16), and running through November 22 at the historic Berkeley City Club.

Stage Left Theatre announces the recipients of the Downstage Left Playwright Residencies for Season 34. Residencies are designed to help playwrights take a project from the conceptual stage all the way to a production-ready script. Playwrights work closely with ensemble directors and members of the literary team to design a process tailored for the particular needs of their project.

The New Group presents the Off-Broadway premiere of Philip Ridley's MERCURY FUR. The production launched the company's 2015-16 season, opening earlier this week on August 19, 2015. The play is directed by Scott Elliott and runs at The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre (480 West 42nd Street). Let's see what the critics had to say...

The New Group's production is impressive but the 2005 post-apocalyptic drama is tedious.

Folger Theatre starts the 2015/16 season with a limited engagement of texts&beheadings/ElizabethR, a world premiere play which explores England's Queen Elizabeth I.  Produced in conjunction with the international theater collective Compagnia de' Colombari, the play is created and directed by Karin Coonrod (Henry VI at the Public Theater and Julius Caesar at Theatre for A New Audience) and will be presented as a part of Washington, D.C.'s city-wide Women's Voices Theater Festival. texts&beheadings/ElizabethR is on stage at Folger Theatre for 16 performances, September 19 - October 4, 2015.

The Laugh Riot Dolls Detroit, founded by popular comedian/performer Heather Kozlakowski, will perform for one night only at The Yellow Barn, 416 W. Huron, Ann Arbor, MI 48103 tonight, August 15 at 9:30 pm with their wickedly irreverent take on life.

Author Bertha Barraza together with co-authors Miranda Angeles, Alex Cuatok and Monique Salgado have a diverse background as well as a wide understanding of what community college experiences are for students. Their collective background and experiences led them in writing 'The ABC'S to starting at a California Community College' (published by Xlibris).
