Cast Announced For Promethean's GROSS INDECENCY: THREE TRIALS OF OSCAR WILDE

Promethean's critically-acclaimed production of Moises Kaufman's historical drama GROSS INDECENCY: THE THREE TRIALS OF OSCAR WILDE, which enjoyed a two-week run in December 2016, will be remounted from February 15 through March 24, 2019 at Strawdog Theatre, 1809 W. Berenice. GROSS INDECENCY, which Promethean Artistic Director Brian Pastor will again direct, will be performed with cross-gender casting in some roles, as it was in the company's earlier production. Promethean Ensemble Member Jamie Bragg will reprise her leading role as Oscar Wilde.

Broadway playwright and director Moises Kaufman (Torch Song, The Laramie Project, Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, I am My Own Wife), founder of Tectonic Theater Project, will lead a "theater and whiskey" trip to the famed Edinburgh Festivals and the Scottish Highlands, from August 3 through 11, 2019.

Performers can come with sheet music, ready to sing, or they can just come hang out.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler announced the cast of the second production of its 2018-19 Season: Birdy, adapted by Naomi Wallace from the novel by William Wharton, and directed by Steven Maler. The production runs February 27 through March 10 at the Carling-Sorenson Theater at Babson College in Wellesley.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Paradise Square: An American Musical. The world premiere is helmed by acclaimed director Moises Kaufman, with choreography by the legendary Bill T. Jones and a book by Marcus Gardley, Craig Lucas, and Larry Kirwan. Music by Jason Howland and Larry Kirwan, with lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and based on the songs of Stephen Foster. Paradise Square is produced by special arrangement with Garth H. THE BLOODY DEED OF 1857 Returns To Colonnade Row For Limited Fall Run

After a sold-out workshop run in March, Paranormal History Productions returns to Colonnade Row with an official limited run of The Bloody Deed of 1857 for the autumn season. The immersive 90 minute play is an adaptation of news accounts which reported the breathless daily developments about a sensational murder that took place on nearby Bond Street. Elise Gainer, author of Ghosts and Murders of Manhattan, credits the nearby Merchant's House Museum with the idea to turn this true-life murder into a play. The work was selected as the featured piece in the Tectonic Theatre Project's Advanced Moment Work Master Class with Moises Kaufman in May 2017. Ken Davenport, the veteran Broadway producer, consulted on this unique immersive experience including script and overall project development.
