The Ensemble Studio Theatre will present a world premiere dark comedy based on a true story, LENIN'S EMBALMERS, by Canadian playwright Vern Thiessen and directed by William Carden. LENIN'S EMBALMERS, part of the Ensemble Studio Theatre/Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Science & Technology Project, plays through March 28 at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, 549 West 52nd Street.

THE BILBAO EFFECT -- a world-premiere play that puts contemporary architecture on trial -- written by Oren Safdie (whose previous play about architecture, PRIVATE JOKES, PUBLIC PLACES, was a hit Off-Broadway in 2003) will be presented Off-Broadway with previews starting May 12 prior to an official press opening night on May 16, 2010 at Center for Architecture (536 LaGuardia Place) in Manhattan.

Seattle's Intiman Theatre presents it's latest installment to it's American Cycle series, "Abe Lincoln in Illinois" by Robert E. Sherwood. The play, while being a little long winded at times, gives us an interesting look at one of our countries greatest figures before he became President. A man who most of us only know from what little we learned in school.

The opening night performance is Wednesday, August 26 at 7:30 pm.

Seattle's Intiman Theatre's current production of Joan Didion's one woman play 'The Year of Magical Thinking' while pretty cannot capture the emotion in such a tragic tale. That is assuming that the emotional arc exists in the first place.

Federico Garcia Lorca's classic play The House of Bernarda Alba, about a household of women repressed by a domineering mother, and William Finn's modern classic musical Falsettoland, about a gay/straight/divorced/married extended family of New Yorkers preparing for a son's bar mitzvah, will be presented by the Obie Award-winning National Asian American Theatre Company (NAATCO) in June 2007 in NYC.
