Ballet School NY, the official training school of New York Theatre Ballet, is pleased to announce its 2017-18 classes for students ages 4 and up, beginning September 18, 2017 at NYTB's home studio, located at St. Mark's Church-in-the-Bowery, 131 E. 10th Street, 2nd Floor, New York City. Classes will be offered Monday through Saturday. 5% discount available with payment by August 31, 2017. An annual recital will conclude the training program.      ROBERTO VILLANUEVA, Executive & Artistic Director and Founder of BalaSole Dance Company, presents the 18th NYC concert season of BalaSole in 'MOLTI,' a new program of solos in a broad range of dance styles, music choices and artistic voices, joined by special guest artist MIKI ORIHARA, former principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, June 2 & 3, 8PM, at BAM Fisher (Fishman Space), 321 Ashland Place, Brooklyn, NY.  This program is part of a split bill concert with the Marie-Christine Giordano Dance.  BalaSole's program will be presented in the second half of the concert (at approximately 9 PM).

 The American Dance Guild Fall Performance Festival will return October 14-16 to the 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center, 1395 Lexington Avenue, NYC, in a weekend tribute to legendary modern dancer, choreographer and avant-garde theater director Jean Erdman in honor of her centenary. Jean Erdman explored archetypal themes in dance and theater in collaboration with her husband, mythologist Joseph Campbell, forming one of the dance world's most inspiring artistic relationships.  Twenty-four dance pieces will be shown over the three-day ADG Festival, in collaboration with 92Y Todays at Noon, 92Y DIG DANCE - Weekend Series and Jean Erdman Dance. The ADG Festival will kick off the Guild's yearlong 60th anniversary celebration.

The CUNY Dance Initiative (CDI), a university-wide residency program heading into its fourth season, is awarding 15 choreographers/dance companies residencies at 12 CUNY colleges in the first half of 2017. CDI, led by New York City's public university system, is a unique model for collaboration. World-renowned artists Mika (marimba) and Richard Stoltzman (clarinet) return to Carnegie Hall on November 5, 2015, to showcase their amazing versatility and crossover ability in a one-night only concert event. The program includes works by Chick Corea, John Zorn, Toru Takemitsu, Bach, Ravel, and Stravinsky, as well as the world premiere of William T. McKinley's 22-movement Mostly Blues for Clarinet and Marimba. Joining the duo on stage are guest artists Eddie Gomez (bass), Adam Albert (clarinet), John Hamann (bass clarinetist), and Miki Orihara (principal dancer of the Martha Graham Dance Company).
