UH Alum Robert Wuhl to Debut HIT-LIT at Alma Mater, 1/29-2/2

Robert Wuhl's long stint in show business began at the University of Houston. The actor/director/writer/producer began entertaining audiences as a student in UH's School of Theatre & Dance (SOTD). Now, he's ready to return to his alma mater to begin a new phase in his career.

UH Theater Alums Return to Campus Tonight, 9/7

The University of Houston's School of Theatre & Dance has a long tradition of producing successful show business professionals. This fall, six esteemed alums are returning to the university to pay tribute to the program that helped launch their careers.

The Getty Museum and Playwrights' Arena in Los Angeles is pleased to offer Euripides' Helen, the seventh annual outdoor theatrical production in the Getty Villa's Barbara and Lawrence Fleischman Theater. Presenting a surprising twist on the legend of Helen of Troy, Euripides' rarely performed Helen will feature a cast of thirteen led by distinguished actor Maxwell Caulfield as Menelaos, King of Sparta, and Rachel Sorsa as Helen. Directed by Jon Lawrence Rivera, artistic director of Los Angeles-based Playwrights' Arena, this production debuts a new adaptation by playwright Nick Salamone and a score by composer and musical director David O.

Tommy Lee Jones Among Donostia Award Honorees at San Sebastian Festival

The 60th edition of the San Sebastian Festival will this year bestow its Donostia Awards on actors John Travolta, Ewan McGregor and Tommy Lee Jones and the Special 60th Anniversary Donostia Award going to director Oliver Stone. In 1969, Jones made his Broadway debut in John Osborne's A Patriot for Me. His other Broadway appearances include Four on a Garden and Ulysses in Nighttown.

Lakeshore Records releases the People Like Us - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally and in stores today June 19, 2012. The recording features original score by Academy Award winning composer A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 HOURS) and the new song 'Dotted Line,' a collaboration between Rahman and Liz Phair.

Westport Country Playhouse Welcomes Author Joan Didion Today, 6/17

Joan Didion will be a guest at a Westport Country Playhouse Sunday Symposium today, June 17, following the 3 p.m. matinee performance of Ms. Didion's play, "The Year of Magical Thinking," based on her 2005 National Book Award-winning memoir. She will converse on the Playhouse stage with David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director. Following the symposium, Ms. Didion will sign copies of her books which will be available for purchase.
