Due to popular demand, Florida Studio Theatre announces an extension of the powerful political drama The Columnist, written by David Auburn. This profound drama based on the true events of Joseph Alsop's life is currently running in FST'S Keating Theatre and will now close on April 14, 2013.

Florida Studio Theatre presents David Auburn's The Columnist, the story of noted political writer Joseph Alsop's fall from power in the 1960s - opening in Florida Studio Theatre's (FST) Keating Theatre (1241 N. Palm Avenue) on Friday, February 1, 2013. Handle with Care is the story of Ayelet, an Israeli girl who is dragged by her grandmother on a road trip to America in search of a dream. Despite a botched DHL delivery, an unexpected blizzard, and an ill-equipped translator who is not really cut out for the job, the clues her grandmother deftly leaves behind eventually lead Ayelet to find what she didn't even know she was looking for: her destiny.

Two special 'Playwright Talk-backs' will take place after the 8 p.m. performance on November 10th and after the 3pm matinee performances on Sunday, November 13th and 20th. In the 2010-2011 season, three of Jason's plays were produced in New York. He began writing plays in 2007, and since then his work has been developed at Primary Stages, Manhattan Theatre Club, New Jersey Rep, The Bleecker Street Theatre, The Jewish Cultural Arts Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Rep Stage and The Baltimore Playwrights Festival.

French playwright Yasmina Reza brings her latest play, God of Carnage, to Broadway under the direction of Matthew Warchus, who has already brought three of her plays to New York over the last decade. It is again translated by longtime British collaborator, Christopher Hampton. Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini, and Marcia Gay Harden will star, with previews beginning on February 28 at the Bernard Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45 Street) and officially opening on March 22. God of Carnage is what press notes describe as 'a comedy of manners without the manners. The play deals with the aftermath of a playground altercation between two boys and what happens when their parents meet to talk about it'.
