Chita Rivera, Megan Hilty, Lena Hall & More Set for Cafe Carlyle's Spring 2016 Season

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel is pleased to announce the Cafe Carlyle's spring 2016 season, which features the venue debuts of Broadway legend Chita Rivera, Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Steven Page, actress/singerRumer Willis and Welsh superstar Katherine Jenkins; as well as the return of audience favorites Megan Hilty, Alexa Ray Joel, Herb Alpert & Lani Hall and Lena Hall.

The Music Hall's Innovation and Leadership Series to Welcome Author M.P. Lynch, 4/13

The Music Hall's Innovation and Leadership series will present leading philosopher Michael Patrick Lynch on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Mr. Lynch will discuss his new book, THE INTERNET OF US: Knowing More and Understanding Less in the Age of Big Data, which asks the most provocative question of our age: even as we know more and process information faster, we reason, think, and understand less, shows how the modern Internet has distorted not only the way we learn and communicate but also the very essence of what it means to be human. With far-reaching implications, this urgent treatise promises to revolutionize our understanding of what it means to be human in the digital age.

2 BROKE GIRLS Star Beth Behrs Will Make NYC Stage Debut in MCC's 'A FUNNY THING...'

MCC THEATER has announced that Beth Behrs, the star of CBS's '2 Broke Girls,' will lead the cast of the world premiere of Halley Feiffer's comedy A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York City.  Behrs will be joined by Obie winner Lisa Emery, most recently seen on the hit Netflix drama 'Jessica Jones,' as well as stage veteran Jacqueline Sydney.  Additional casting will be announced at a later date.  Obie winner Trip Cullman directs the production which begins previews on May 19, 2016 ahead of a June 7, 2016 opening night.  Tickets are now on sale at www.mcctheater.org. 

LUCKY STIFF, MAME and More Slated for Stoneham Theatre's 17th Season

Stoneham Theatre is pleased to announce its Mainstage programming for Season 17. Kicking off the season is the musical murder mystery farce, Lucky Stiff, followed by an exploration of artificial intelligence in the science fiction play Uncanny Valley.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY Opens 3/26 at Berkeley Playhouse

 Berkeley Playhouse at the historic Julia Morgan Theater continues their most acclaimed season yet, with The Addams Family. The show isdirected and choreographed by long time Berkeley Playhouse associate Kimberly Dooley (Berkeley Playhouse's Mary Poppins, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Wiz, Suessical the Musical.). Due to popular demand, Abrons Arts Center extends the world premiere of Erin Markey's A Ride On The Irish Cream, a sharp and playful,performance art musical about the role childhood plays in our adult intimacies. Directed by Jordan Fein, A Ride On The Irish Cream stars real-life couple Becca Blackwell (Doris Duke Impact Award Recipient) and Markey, a "magnetic diva," (The New York Times). It features a live, four-piece band playing original music composed by Kenny Mellman, Emily Bate and Markey.

Kiki and Herb to Play Series of Shows at Joe's Pub

Due to popular demand, Joe's Pub at The Public extends the reunion run of Kiki and Herb, the legendary and fanatically-loved cabaret duo brought to life by Mx Justin Vivian Bond and Kenny Mellman, for two weeks. Born in 1992 in San Francisco and retired in 2007 in New York City, the 'perverse' and 'transcendental' (The New York Times) septuagenarian lounge-singers will debut a new show entitled Seeking Asylum!, which will now run from April 21-May 22, 9:30PM, for a total of 21 performances.

Cast Announced for The Gift Theatre's RICHARD III at Steppenwolf's Garage

The Gift Theatre kicks off its 15th anniversary season in March 2016 with artistic director and ensemble member Michael Patrick Thornton starring in William Shakespeare's Richard III directed by Jessica Thebus (Sex with Strangers, Steppenwolf).  The Gift's Richard III will be in Steppenwolf's Garage Theatre (1624 N Halsted St) and runs March 3 - May 1, 2016.  Press opening is Monday, March 7.  www.steppenwolf.org

Chita Rivera Postpones Cafe Carlyle Debut Due to Injury

Chita Rivera has postponed her engagement at the Cafe Carlyle, originally scheduled for January 12-23 to April 19-30 due to an injury she sustained over the Christmas holiday, BroadwayWorld has confirmed. Following a fall, it was discovered that she has a pelvic stress fracture.
