Town Hall Theatre "Generations" Season 2017-2018 kicks off this fall with THE SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE -A Musical Fairy Tale, with book, music and lyrics by award-winning Bay Area playwright Min Kahng. Based upon the Hans Christian Andersen fairy-tale, THE SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE is an enchanting, pop musical romp for the whole family that reminds us that true beauty and worth is always found within.

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) has announced the details of its 2017-18 centennial season.

Town Hall Theatre Company (THT) is excited to announce four dynamic plays in the lineup for its 2017-2018 Season: Generations. Town Hall's Season opens with the musical The Song of the Nightingale by local playwright/composer Min Kahng; continues with the local premiere of A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel, followed by Alan Ayckbourn's dark comedy Woman in Mind; and closes with Kate Hamill's sparkling new adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense & Sensibility. Bob Marley's Three Little Birds will be presented by Bay Area Children's Theatre as part of Marin Theatre Company's Theater Series for Young Audiences. Adapted by Michael J. Bobbitt; based on the story by Cedella Marley, with music by Bob Marley; additional music and lyrics by John L. Cornelius, II, the show will be directed by Michael Mohammed and runs tonight, March 7 - March 15, 2015.

The Douglas Morrisson Theatre continues its 35th Season with the musical CANDIDE, Royal National Theatre Version, with music by Leonard Bernstein, book adapted from Voltaire by Hugh Wheeler, in a new version by John Caird; and lyrics by Richard Wilbur, additional lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, John Latouche, Lillian Hellman, Dorothy Parker and Leonard Bernstein. Featuring Leonard Bernstein's soaring score and lyrics from some of the wittiest writers of all time, this rollicking musical satire chronicles the lives and loves of Candide, a simple soul whose glass is always half-full.

Building on the success of its inaugural Theater Series for Young Audiences, of which every performance was sold out, Marin Theatre Company will again partner with Bay Area Children's Theatre to present five productions in MTC's 99-seat Lieberman Theatre and 231-seat Boyer Theatre. The series includes four BACT productions - Five Little Monkeys, James and the Giant Peach, Three Little Birds, and Fancy Nancy, the Musical! - as well as one MTC production - Around the World in 80 Days. Emily Keeler, San Francisco Arts Education's Artistic Director, announced today that the San Francisco Arts Education Project's 2014 musical is Li'l Abner, the 1956 Broadway musical featuring music by Gen De Paul and lyrics by the great Johnny Mercer. Li'l Abner runs for eight performances beginning tonight, February 14 through Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Eureka Theatre (215 Jackson Street, San Francisco).

Adventurous, award-winning theater ensemble Mugwumpin in association with Z Space present the world premiere of The Great Big Also, a performance experiment borne out of the American prophetic tradition. Created and written by Mugwumpin under the direction of Christopher W. White, The Great Big Also runs from tonight, March 7 to Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Z Space in San Francisco.

Come see twelve of the Bay Area's up and coming vocalists perform unconventional love confessions with twisted conclusions to some of opera's favorite pieces. The evening features songs from Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute), Bizet's Carmen, as well as the infamous mad scene from Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor.
