Vineyard Theatre Extends John Kander & Greg Pierce's THE LANDING Through 11/24

The Vineyard Theatre has announced its world-premiere production of the musical THE LANDING -- with book and lyrics by Greg Pierce, music by John Kander and directed by Walter Bobbie -- will extend its previously-announced engagement by two weeks, now scheduled to play through November 24 at The Vineyard (108 E. 15 St.). THE LANDING began preview performances October 3 with opening night set for October 23.

THE LANDING -- which marks John Kander's first full new theatre collaboration with another writer since the passing of his long-time collaborator Fred Ebb in 2004 -- begins previews tonight, October 3, with an official opening night on October 23rd at Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.)

The Playwrights Realm Presents THE HATMAKER'S WIFE, Now thru 9/21

The New York premiere of Lauren Yee's new play The Hatmaker's Wife, presented by The Playwrights Realm, begins performances tonight at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street). The Hatmaker's Wife is directed by recent OBIE Award winner Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812) and will open tonight, September 5.

The Playwrights Realm has announced the '1 to 5 Ticket Drive,' a special ticket initiative available exclusively for the first five preview performances of their New York premiere of The Hatmaker's Wife, a new play by Lauren Yee directed by recent OBIE Award winner Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812).

Johanna Day & Reg Rogers to Lead World Premiere of OBLIVION at Westport Country Playhouse; Performances to Begin. 8/20

Westport Country Playhouse will stage the World Premiere of 'Oblivion,' a provocative new play about parents and teenagers, and the gulf that often exists between them, by Carly Mensch, writer for Showtime's 'Nurse Jackie' and 'Weeds,' and directed by Mark Brokaw, currently represented on Broadway with 'Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella.' The coming-of-age comedy-drama runs from August 20 through September 8.

Rattlestick to Present Jessica Dickey's CHARLES IVES TAKE ME HOME, 5/29-6/29

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere ofCharles Ives Take Me Home, written by Jessica Dickey and directed by Daniella Topol. Charles Ives Take Me Home will begin performances on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater at 224 Waverly Place. The official opening night is set forThursday, June 13 at 7pm. The production is scheduled to run through June 29.

Tennessee Williams's NOTEBOOK OF TRIGORIN Makes NY Debut, Now thru 5/18

The Attic Theater Company will present the New York premiere of Tennessee Williams's The Notebook of Trigorin, directed by Laura Braza. Williams's adaptation of Anton Chekov's The Seagull, The Notebook of Trigorin will be performed at The Flea (41 White Street -between Broadway & Church Streets) now through Saturday, May 18th, 2013.

Actors Theatre of Louisville's ROMEO AND JULIET Begins Previews Tonight, 9/4

Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein have announced the cast and creative team for Actors Theatre's 2012-2013 season opener Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. This high-octane and energetic contemporary retelling of one of the greatest love stories ever told features a dynamic cast of thirteen, a stellar team of designers and is directed by Louisville native and Drama Desk nominee Tony Speciale. Romeo and Juliet plays only 30 performances in the Pamela Brown Auditorium at Actors Theatre of Louisville as part of the Brown-Forman Series.
