Through interviews with the show's stars, composers Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, Director Michael Greif, and Producers David Stone and Carole Rothman, the episode follows the show from it's first incarnation as a college project to a 10-minute musical at the famed BMI Workshop and then through it's development process off-Broadway and out of town before landing on Broadway were it became a long-running Pulitzer Prize winning hit.

Salt Pillar Productions announces a public staged reading of Advent by Montgomery Sutton, directed by Emily Lyon. The cast features Dan Beaulieu, Laura Piccoli, and Montgomery Sutton. The one night only event will be held at 8pm on February 26, 2017 at Shetler Studios (244 w 54th St., 12th Floor). Stable Cable Lab Co. has announced its 2017 season, which will launch tonight with its annual reading series of new plays in process. This free reading series will feature three plays in development including HOME CHURCH PLAY by Jacob Perkins tonight, February 17th, DOLLFACE by Emily Daly on February 20th, and LITTLEGHOST by Liza Birkenmeier on February 27th.

Acclaimed Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons will hold its annual Spring Gala on Monday evening, May 8 at the event space 583 Park Avenue. Titled A CELEBRATION OF SONG, the evening will honor three of the company's exceptional alumni writers: Tony Award nominee Scott Frankel (Grey Gardens and Far From Heaven at Playwrights), Tony Award nominee Michael Korie (Grey Gardens and Far From Heaven at Playwrights) and Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife and Grey Gardens at Playwrights).

Just last month, Works & Process at the Guggenheim offered a behind-the-scenes look at War Paint, the new musical by librettist Doug Wright, composer Scott Frankel, lyricist Michael Korie, and director Michael Greif in advance of the Broadway opening on April 6, 2017. Two-time Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole star as America's first major female entrepreneurs and relentless and legendary rivals, Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden. LuPone and Ebersole joined the creative team for a moderated discussion and performance excerpts with moderator Amy Fine Collins, Vanity Fair special correspondent.

PUFFS or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic has extended through June 25, 2017 due to popular demand Off-Broadway at The Elektra Theater (300 West 43rd Street). In addition, a regular weekly 3:00 PM Saturday Matinee performance will be added beginning on March 4.
