2017 Mallory Gilbert Leadership Award Winner Announced!

The Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT) is pleased to present the annual Mallory Gilbert Leadership Award to multi-award winning producer, presenter, playwright, director, designer and arts advocate Michele Decottignies. The award was presented at the annual PACT Conference in Charlottetown, PE. Michele was chosen from a list of seven nominees from across Canada and chose Olivia Marie Golosky as her protege.

Starz announced today that the highly-anticipated eight-episode first season of FremantleMedia North America produced STARZ Original Series AMERICAN GODS, adapted from Neil Gaiman's acclaimed contemporary fantasy novel, will make its network premiere on Sunday, April 30th at 9PM ET/PT.

SF Opera Lab pops up at the Uptown Nightclub in Oakland on March 23, 2017 with Hands-On Opera, an interactive night of operatic fun and mischief. This SF Opera Lab event, the first to be held outside of San Francisco, will be curated by stage director and current San Francisco Opera Adler Fellow Aria Umezawa and feature performances by Adler Fellows including sopranos Sarah Cambidge and Amina Edris; tenors Amitai Pati and Kyle van Schoonhoven; baritone Andrew G. Manea; bass-baritone Brad Walker; bassAnthony Reed; and pianists Jennifer Szeto and Ronny Michael Greenberg. Dancing will follow the performance with a live DJ.

Highland Park Players proudly present the non-equity Chicago area premier of the 10-time Tony Award winning musical, Billy Elliot the Musical. Asher Alcantara of Wilmette and Cade Pearlman of Highland Park will be alternating the role of the iconic character, Billy. The musical that has won hearts of millions will be performed at the Northbrook Theatre, 3323 Walters Avenue, from October 21st through November 6th. Performances are: October 21, 22, 28, 29 and November 3, 4, 5 at 7:30 pm and October 23, 30 and November 6 at 2 pm.
San Francisco Opera Announces 2017 Adler Fellows

San Francisco Opera Center Director Sheri Greenawald today announced the thirteen recipients of the 2017 Adler Fellowship. Nine singers, three pianist/apprentice coaches and one director will take part in the program-a multi-year performance-oriented residency offering advanced young artists intensive individual training, coaching and professional seminars, as well as a wide range of performance opportunities. Adler Fellows are selected from the young artists who have participated in the Merola Opera Program. The prestigious fellowship has nurtured the development of more than 175 young artists since its inception.

August in August' is a brand new annual live performance series teaming Joseph Grant Jr., ambassador of arts and culture for the councilman and theatrical producer Andrea J. Fulton of the Anderson & Bert Cade Fulton Foundation. Joint efforts result in the mounting of August Wilson's Tony nominated Two Trains Running directed by Sabura Rashid as its upcoming offering starting August 26th 2016. The production of 'Two Trains Running' will be featured at Fulton Park in Brooklyn on Aug. 26 from 6 to 9 p.m., and Aug. 27 at Herbert Von King Park from 4 to 7p.m. Both performances are FREE. August in August actually began Aug. 13 with the first installation of the series 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom performed at Fulton Park in Brooklyn, produced by the Bed-Stuy Theatre Group.
