The Watermill Theatre has announced details of the premiere of But First This, a musical homage to Radio 4, written by BBC newsreader Kathy Clugston, playing from Thursday 23 October to Saturday 8 November 2014 (press night Monday 27 October, 7.30pm). On sale now.
Principal casting has now been announced for the third UK tour of Jonathan Lynn and Antony Jay's hit stage version ofYes, Prime Minister. Michael Fenton Stevens (recognisable as Sir Henry in ITV's Benidorm) will take on the role of beleaguered PM Jim Hacker, while opposite him Crispin Redman (known as Judge Richards in Law & Order: UK) will play Sir Humphrey Appleby and West End star Michael Matus (Taboo, Lend Me A Tenor) will perform the role of Principal Private Secretary, Bernard Woolley.
Wilton's Music Hall presents a traditional Victorian Christmas this year with WILTON'S VINTAGE CHRISTMAS devised and directed by Nick Hutchison, which opens on Tuesday 7 December, previewing from 6 December. The limited season, which runs for only 11 performances, will end on Saturday 18 December. John Wilton will play host to an evening which mixes Charles Dickens with Henry Mayhew, Christmas carols with music hall songs, poetry with variety-style entertainment. The entire hall will be bedecked in seasonal Victorian decoration. After the 85-minute performance, the audience will be welcome to stay and enjoy some seasonal fayre - mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and more.
Oscar Wilde's hilarious and timeless comedy classic The Importance of Being Earnest will be presented at the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich (Friday 17 September to Saturday 9 October).
