Due to public demand for tickets, Eric Rosen, artistic director of Kansas City Repertory Theatre, has extended the run of the theatre's phenomenal hit A Christmas Story, The Musical!, which Rosen also directed.
The world premiere of A Christmas Story, The Musical!, opens tonight, Saturday, November, 28th at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Preview performances began November 20th.
More than a week out from its first preview, ticket sales for A Christmas Story, The Musical! have far surpassed Kansas City Rep's expectations, putting the show on track to be the theatre's highest grossing production ever. One third of the show's performances are already sold out, with more expected, and the Rep is in the process of adding performances to the run.
A Broadway revival of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart's BABES IN ARMS is in the works, according to Variety.
The production will be directed and choreographed by Randy Skinner (recently Tony nominated Choreographer of 'Irving Berlin's White Christmas') and will utilize a new book by Joe DiPietro ('I Love You, You're Perfect...Now Change!', 'The Toxic Avenger' and 'Memphis'). The production will star Rosie O'Donnell.
Frankenstein, the off-Broadway musical adapted from Mary Shelley's novel, will play its final performance on Sunday, December 9 at 3PM after 70 performances (including 25 previews).
