There has lately been an irresponsible campaign against people who wear cargo shorts, with articles disdaining them on Buzzfeed, Thought Catalog, Huffington Post, and many more. The wonderful and useful garment has become a joke. This is not only style-shaming, but also elitist. Some people work for a living, and find cargo shorts not only useful, but also attractive.

The award-winning musical, A Letter to Harvey Milk, based on the short story "A Letter to Harvey Milk" by Leslea Newman, will enjoy an invite-only industry reading in New York City on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Times Square's Playroom Theatre. A Letter to Harvey Milk, has a book by Jerry James, Cheryl Stern and Laura I. Kramer, lyrics by Ellen M. Schwartz with additional lyrics by Cheryl Stern, and music by Laura I. Kramer, it has been musical directed, arranged and orchestrated by Ned Paul Ginsburg, and the reading will be directed by Evan Pappas (Performer: Parade, My Favorite Year).
Pacific Symphony and Elliot Goldenthal Release SYMPHONY IN G# MINOR

Pacific Symphony has reunited with Academy Award-winning composer Elliot Goldenthal to release the world-premiere recording of his “Symphony in G# Minor” on the Zarathustra Music label Tuesday, May 12. Goldenthal wrote the 22-minute work for Pacific Symphony and Music Director Carl St.Clair as part of the orchestra's 2014 American Composers Festival. This collaboration comes 20 years after the orchestra commissioned Goldenthal to write a piece for the 20th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. Entitled “Fire Water Paper: A Vietnam Oratorio,” the hour-long work for orchestra and SATB chorus with soloists and a cello obbligato, was premiered in 1995, with the recording released in 1996 on Sony Classical Records, featuring renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma.

Sydney Theatre Company has released the judges' shortlist of five plays in the running for the 2014 Patrick White Playwrights' Award which will be announced with a rehearsed reading of the winning play at The Wharf on Friday 22 May 2015 at 8pm. The winner of the prestigious Patrick White Playwrights' Fellowship will also be announced at the event on 22 May.
