BWW Reviews: Insight Theatre Company's MAN OF LA MANCHA
by Chris Gibson - Aug 15, 2010

MAN OF LA MANCHA has become a community theatre staple, and as such, gets staged with some degree of regularity. While some of these are uneven affairs at best, the Insight Theatre Company's current production is an exception, combining the talents of a splendid cast with sharp direction and choreography to produce an engaging and compelling evening of entertainment.

Lyceum Theatre Continues 50th Season with MY FAIR LADY Thru 7/31
by BWW News Desk - Jul 31, 2010

The Lerner and Loewe masterpiece MY FAIR LADY brings to life Eliza Doolittle, an uncommon Cockney flower girl who is taken under the tutelage of the arrogant Henry Higgins as he attempts to teach her proper diction and pass her off as a lady. According to the show's director Michael Rothhaar 'MY FAIR LADY is the gold standard of Broadway musicals and an honest to goodness fairy tale.' The delightful score includes audience favorites 'I Could Have Danced All Night,' 'On the Street Where You Live,' 'I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face,' 'Get Me to the Church on Time,' and so many others.

BWW Reviews: Lyceum Theatre Opens 50th Season with Funny and Frenetic Production of THE PRODUCERS Through 6/12
by Chris Gibson - Jun 6, 2010

Mel Brooks is an equal opportunity offender, and I think that's one of the reasons he's able to get away with so much. When it was in the planning stages, it seemed highly improbable that he could turn his 1968 feature THE PRODUCERS into a Broadway musical, much less a runaway hit. But, he and writer Thomas Meehan did just that, garnering a number of accolades and awards along the way. The Lyceum Theatre in Arrow Rock, MO begin their 50th professional season with a lively and well mounted production of THE PRODUCERS that continues their longstanding tradition of providing exceptional entertainment in the very heart of the mid-west.

The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre's 50th Anniversary Season opens on June 2nd with the Lyceum premiere of Mel Brooks' THE PRODUCERS running through June 12. Winner of a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards in 2001 including Best Musical, this outrageously funny musical tells the story of a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer (Max Bialystock), played by Dana Snyder. Dana is returning to the Lyceum stage after a 16 year hiatus during which time he has appeared in many regional theatres from Austin to Cleveland.
