The Shakespeare Theatre presents the New Jersey premiere of the award-winning play WITTENBERG by David Davalos, in which he ingeniously manipulates time and space to unite an unusual trio-Doctor Faustus, Martin Luther, and Hamlet-for a witty and provocative debate about faith, fate, existence, and tennis. The 'big questions,' the enigmas that eternally puzzle mankind, are given clever and delightfully quirky forum in this contemporary riff on the age-old and eternal conudrums. Chris Trapper Plays the Spotlight Cafe at Capitol Center For The Arts Tonight

Former Push Stars front man Chris Trapper comes to Concord for an intimate performance at the Capitol Center for the Arts' Spotlight Café tonight, September 12, at 8pm. With four CD releases and several high profile national tours -- including a run with Matchbox Twenty -- The Push Stars served to establish Chris as an authentic talent. As a modern day singer /songwriter, Chris is most known for his song This Time, the #1 selling song on the Grammy-nominated soundtrack for AUGUST RUSH (Robin Williams, Jonathan Rhys Meyers /Warner Bros Pictures).

They're Going Back to the Woods! Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine Set for INTO THE WOODS Reunion at Segerstrom Center

Audiences have an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to journey back into the woods and American musical theater history with the creators and original Broadway cast of the award-winning musical Into the Woods on Sunday, November 9 at 6 p.m. in Segerstrom Hall. Part conversation, part musical selections, this one-night-only reunion celebration is being written and produced by Eileen Roberts in association with Segerstrom Center for the Arts. It features special guests composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim and author and director James Lapine, along with original Broadway cast members Bernadette Peters (The Witch), Joanna Gleason (The Baker's Wife), Chip Zien (The Baker), Robert Westenberg (Cinderella's Prince and Wolf), Kim Crosby (Cinderella), Danielle Ferland (Little Red Riding Hood) and Ben Wright (Jack). Mo Rocca is the moderator; Tedd Firth is the musical director.

Candace Cameron Bure Co-Hosts 18th Annual PRISM AWARDS on FX Tonight

Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC) has announced the premiere airing of the 18th Annual PRISM Showcase with host Dr. Drew Pinsky (Dr. Drew On Call) and guest co-hosts Candace Cameron Bure (Full House), and Tim Kang (The Mentalist). Tune in tonight, September 6, 2014 on flagship airing partner FX to see this year's honorees in television shows and movies that accurately depict mental health and substance use prevention, treatment and recovery. Additional airings will include those on Pivot and RLTV.

BAFTA to Host A LIFE IN PICTURES With Ray Winstone

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has today announced that Ray Winstone, the BAFTA-nominated and Emmy-winning actor, will discuss his craft and career at a special 'BAFTA A Life in Pictures' event at BAFTA's headquarters, 195 Piccadilly in London, on Sunday 5 October.

Harry Lloyd to Star in The Print Room's NOTES FROM UNDERGROUND This Autumn

GAME OF THRONES' Harry Lloyd will return to the stage this October in a modern adaptation of NOTES FROM UNDERGROUND, a novella by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. The production previewed earlier this year in Paris. NOTES FROM UNDERGROUND will be the inaugural production at The Print Room's new venue, The Coronet in Notting Hill.

Julie Powell to Visit Santa Fe University of Art and Design

Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD) announced today that it will host author Julie Powell on campus Sept. 15-17. Powell, best known for writing the blog and bestselling memoir that inspired the film Julie & Julia, will visit classes within the Creative Writing and Literature Department, host a public reading and Q&A, and introduce a special screening of Julie & Julia at The Screen.

Rose McGowan's Directorial Debut DAWN to Have Oscar Qualifying Run

RSA/Black Dog Films announced today that after the critically acclaimed world premiere at Sundance Film Festival, the taut directorial debut from Rose McGowan, DAWN, will have an Oscar qualifying run in Los Angeles at the Downtown Independent startingSeptember 19th. As mentioned in The Hollywood Reporter throughout the week the short film will be accompanied by seven features, one per night, curated by McGowan at the first annual 'Dawn Festival'.

Alex Breaux and Madeline Weinstein Join Roundabout's THE REAL THING

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced additional casting for The Real Thing, starring Ewan McGregor as 'Henry,' Maggie Gyllenhaal as 'Annie,' Cynthia Nixon as 'Charlotte' and Josh Hamilton as 'Max.' Tom Stoppard's Tony Award-winning play The Real Thing, directed by Sam Gold begins preview performances on Thursday, October 2, 2014 and opens officially on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42ndStreet). This is a limited engagement. The cast also includes Alex Breaux as 'Brodie' and Madeline Weinstein as 'Debbie.' Final casting to be announced.

Shakespeare Theatre to Present WITTENBERG, Begin. 9/10

Performances begin September 10 at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Avenue in Madison. Tickets start at $25 for preview performances and $32 for regular performances. Student rush tickets for all performances are $15, available a half-hour before curtain for with a valid student ID.
