The Guthrie today announced complete casting for its first-ever staging of A Delicate Balance, Edward Albee's 1966 Pulitzer Prize-winning portrait of upper-upper-middle-class suburban WASP culture. Under the direction of eight-time A Christmas Carol director Gary Gisselman, actors Margaret Daly (Jane Eyre) and Tom Tammi (Richard III, 1965) return for their second Guthrie productions, teaming to play Agnes and Tobias, the dysfunctional suburban couple at the center of Albee's sharp and witty masterpiece. Manhattan Theatre Club (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer) announced full casting for the upcoming Broadway premiere of Richard Greenberg's THE AMERICAN PLAN which will be directed by Tony nominee David Grindley (Journey's End). The previously announced Lily Rabe and Mercedes Ruehl will be joined by Benjamin Eakeley (Sweeney Todd), Austin Lysy (A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Delacorte), and Brenda Pressley (The First Breeze of Summer).

The LA Times is reporting the scoop this morning that Bernadette Peters will guest star on UGLY BETTY for at least one episode in early 2009 as a 'magazine mogul with a mouthful for a name.' The episode will be the eleventh of the season and is set to air in January 2009.

The critically acclaimed off-Broadway production of Amy Wilson's one-woman show MOTHER LOAD is embarking on a National Tour. Originally slated for a 7 week run in New York City in May 2007, MOTHER LOAD ran for 9 weeks to sold-out houses. After seeing the show, The Road Company knew that MOTHER LOAD belonged on the road.
