Son of Semele Ensemble to Open West Coast Premiere of OUR CLASS, 4/6

Award-winning theatre company, Son of Semele Ensemble (SOSE), will present the west coast premiere of Our Class, by Polish playwright Tadeusz S?obodzianek, in an English version by Ryan Craig. Directed by Matthew McCray, Our Class opens April 6th at the Atwater Village Theatre.

With a score of jazz, ragtime, gospel and blues, the European premiere of THE COLOR PURPLE will be directed by John Doyle (Road Show at the Menier Chocolate Factory), adapted for the stage by Pulitzer Prize and Tony award winner Marsha Norman, with music and lyrics by Grammy award winners Brenda Russell, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray.

American actor, singer and improvisational comedian, Mike McShane will be joining the cast of the new musical, The Tailor-Made Man, when it opens at the Arts Theatre in London tonight, 21 February, previewing from 14 February. He will be playing the role of Louis B Mayer. Also in the cast will be Faye Tozer as Marion Davies and Dylan Turner as William Haines, along with Bradley Clarkson as Jimmy Shields, Michael Cotton, Kay Murphy, Matt Wilman, Lauren Grant, Vivien Carter, Holly Easterbrook and Edward French.

Menier Announce Charity Play Reading Of Original MERRILY Script

Before the well-loved musical that is Merrily We Roll Along by Stephen Sondheim and George Furth, there was the original play, written in 1934 by George S Kaufman and Moss Hart. Although rarely revived, the play was the inspiration for Sondheim and Furth's piece. Focusing on the lifelong friendship of three characters, the play tells their story in reverse time, from 1934 to 1916, and is a poignant and bittersweet reflection of life, love and loss.
