Broadway Artists Connection And International Children's Network Connect To Fight Poverty In Africa

The Broadway Artists Connection announces that they are partnering with the International Children's Network to send a team of Broadway & NYC volunteer professionals to mount the first musical ever in Liberia, West Africa with children from the Matsiko World Orphan Choir. The WIZ will open on September 8th, 2018. The International Children's Network has has been committed to providing as many of our world's 600 million orphaned and at-risk children sponsorship for a complete education and now has a dream to open the first national theater.

Music Mountain, America's longest running summer chamber music festival, continues its 89th season with another weekend of extraordinary music. The all-female Cassatt String Quartet, with guest artist Paul Katz, cello offer a program featuring Borodin; Shostakovich; and Schubert on Sunday, August 26 (3pm). The weekend music begins with first time guests Amina Figarova Quintet playing her original jazz compositions on Saturday evening, August 25 (6:30pm). Concerts are scheduled through September 23.

The powerhouse sketch show, which takes place in a dystopian future where all content is branded, began its run at the UCB Theatre in Hell's Kitchen in February 2018 and quickly became one the fledgling location's hallmark attractions; however, the production ruffled some feathers when it announced that BCWSYF mainstay Gianmarco Soresi would be replaced by Alexis Pereira, an E-Learning Supervising Technician at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, following the former's departure to Less Than 50%, currently running at 59E59.
